I grasp the thought process of people who make **** up on message boards just fine.

That's fine, pleading ignorance here works fine. You obviously don't know what megalomania is all about. Cool. Chill with it.

Leftwich was being spoken about as HC material at one stage after that Superbowl win but his offence in Tampa last year was absolute garbage. Brady was clearly not the player he once was but he still had some weapons around him and yet the offence was near unwatchable.

You could make a case for bringing him in for the rest of the season in some capacity but my fear if that happens is that he will get the OC job by default next offseason purely because he is already in the building.

Id like to think that after the Canada disaster that they’d cast the net a bit wider than their own staff this time.

Right but the point has been that much of the fan base and even the media has been clamoring for Canada to get fired and he has to be replaced by somebody which is why @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace was kicking around the idea of giving left which the rest of the year to see what he can do.
Personally, I highly doubt they even fire him and imagine that if they did they would probably replace him with somebody in house for the rest of the year. Just spit balling ideas at this point.

Isn't it funny, the contrast between the two organizations? Leftwich gets fired after one bad season and the Steelers keep sticking with Canada after 3. I'm not necessarily a fan of pulling the trigger on firing a Coach too soon but sometimes it is warranted and I feel Canada has had plenty of time to prove his worth in this league.

This, The dream for most of the sane fans is of course firing Canada outright, but to try and bring someone in and implement a new system, language, and force feed personal that are already having communication issues is also insane, that said you also cannot have Canada in the building if you demote him or bring in a consultant. So fire his ass, give the interim reigns to Sullivan or Thomas and perhaps bring in Lefty as Sr consultant, whatever. Work it and make no promises except everyone will be evaluated at the end of the year and choices made. If it's working, or not the new OC will want a team that he chooses.

Yea, the non-sense talk about we got the win and probably saved his job. If Art and company based it on one win, and still saw the overall result, then they deserve what they get. Waiting for the bye week is one thing, but after the crap show we have seen for 5 weeks (this year alone), there should be no one more week option, boot him and try something new or lose an entire season.

correct - Munch was not RUN OUT or kicked out - he wanted to get home to family, at least that is narrative we have been told for years.

Id love to see him back

Leftwich taking over as play caller after the bye is a great idea. The offense is already what it is for the season. My belief is better play calling would go a long way to improving game day though. And Leftwich can be that guy.

Not an advocate of his but what could it hurt? im sure it was definitely a product of his associates. However, Canada is proven too… proving so far he flat out can’t reap any of the benefits of any of the talent he has at his disposal, much less his star studded HC. That is just sad.

I like play callers that actually played the position.
Watching Eli and Peyton last night on MNF really is cool.

I think Byron is going to have to start all over again somewhere as the QB coach and work his way back up to O.C.

We can all dream that there will be changes made in season, but we all know they won’t be. if we were 0-5, 1-4 or 2-3 possibly. But with each win we get the OC will remain the same no matter how the offense performs.

I wish it was different, but this is just the way it is.

I don’t disagree and the win against the Ravens I’m sure helped Canada retain his position but it shouldn’t have. The fact is we won in spite of the offense and not because of it.

I know exactly what you mean, I will take a win no matter how it falls. Just hate that it buys Canada more time.

Could it hurt? good lord yes. Bring in someone that doesn’t know the playbook, terminology, or the personnel and expect him to succeed? I thought y’all wanted to win football games

@Karl@Karl Were you with Washington when Mike Martz was an assistant in 1998, before he came to St. Louis to be the OC with the Rams in 1999? Martz should be called, even it is just as a consultant.
