Why was I giddy to see Broderick get a chance?

    ... Wait a second...

You mean the most athletically gifted tackle with arguably the highest upside did well after obtaining a chance?!....

He actually played pretty well, AQL. Who knew, huh? Moving forward, he and JPJ need to be starting. Hopefully, Cam is ready to go after the bye because I want to see what Benton looks like with #97 in there.

On a serious note to the OP.... for me, this performance was a long time coming. Again, I will have to dive into the All 22 to see how well Broderick played overall. However, consensus among many is that his first start was largely a success.

The surprise isn't so much though about how well Broderick played. The surprise should be how quickly Broderick acclimated himself to the speed of the NFL. While he did have more Preseason snaps than any Rookie on the Steelers Roster, Preseason is Preseason whereas the NFL Season is a different beast all together. Hell, check out Kenny's Preseason Performance vs what he is now currently. Regardless, Broderick's sudden improvement after a shaky experience against Houston should definitely pave the way for him moving forward.

Given how the bye week is coming up, hopefully Tomlin realizes this and keeps Broderick Jones over Dan Moore!!.... and then I need to remind my fellow brothers and sisters of TheSteelersFans of something ominous.

Recall back in 2020 how Kevin Dotson had thoroughly outplayed Matt Feiler?! Matt Feiler would end up getting the start against the Cleveland Browns in what is considered by some to be the worst loss by Pittsburgh to Cleveland.... ever. Never mind that, Dotson had to make the switch over the following season as the team brought in Trai Turner; a massive mistake.

I am not saying that Broderick Jones shouldn't start over Dan Moore. I am saying that don't be surprised if Tomlin elects to play Moore over Jones.

You were giddy because he's the best OL on the team and should have been starting from Day 1.
