Butkus was a monster at MLB at 6'3" and 245 he was bigger than a lot of lineman at that time. In a game against the Steelers in 1969 he had 25 tackles and sacked Dick Shiner for a safety.

At a HOF party Butkus was standing alone in one party of the room Lambert was standing alone in another part

Tom Landry said to a writer

Middle linebackers look at them they don’t like anybody

    Nobody likes them

They don’t even like each other

Butkus and Sayers, two greats playing at the same time. I was a young lad and had just gone to my first Steeler game. Can't remember who we played but remember the older guys (probably in their late 20's) going on and on about them two.

Went home and made my older sisters find everything they could on both of them. Just didn't understand why they were not Steelers.

    RIP Dick!

This made me sad. He was a complete football player with a legitimate mean streak. RIP Dick.
