Listen I can’t stand TOMLIN and have wanted things to change for years because I don’t think we will ever be relevant with him again but…….. I still want the Steelers to win every damn game. It just makes no sense for a Steeler fan to want any player to do poorly.

 

So A. Rodgers was worthless for all , but one year, Dan M was worthless for His whole career, Bradshaw was worthless for all , but 4 years, Brady was worthless for all , but 9 years, P. Manning was worthless for all,but 4 years,and so on???? LoL well You should have told all of them this....it would have saved a bunch of them many injuries. LoL

 

Your logic escapes me. Ben was an underachiever for the last 2/3rds of his career. Had an all pro RB WR at his disposal....from 2014-2018. He was Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott as they are now.

To be fair, we were up and killing them. The last 8 minutes of the game, the refs made it very close. They went from letting the teams play football to calling every single possible thing in the book, enabling the Raiders to keep the ball going ---> way.

Dan M. and Ahole Rodgers = 1 SB but look at the great seasons they gave their fans. Big dumb took us to 3 SB's but gave us so many years of having a shot at it. Just like Ahole and Dan M. did for their teams.

You do know the Browns couldve drafted Ben? Oh the Browns will be the Browns! So Ben let them feel that remorse every time he beat them!

 

Not an NCAA guy and never heard of Ben until the night he became a Steeler. Always remember the excitement on the old board. Credit to those who were in the know. They said we got us a franchise QB. A few guys were sure we'd get #5 now. (only had 4 back then)

Not really a draft guy but I assume we were around the middle that year. No idea of trade ups and such but I bet the Bengals and Browns both had a shot before us along with 10-15 other teams. Granted some of those teams could have had a QB in place. Too lazy to research it but Ben may have been drafted in a QB rich draft year??

 

They passed on Ben to take Kellen Winslow II, lol.

 

He was a great draft pick. I was ecstatic when they drafted him. That year's quarterback class is considered one of the best in history. Eli Manning and Philip Rivers went in the first 4 picks. The Giants and Chargers made a trade to swap quarterbacks, and that left Ben as all three were rated high and it was just a team decision who they thought was best. Luckily no other teams needed or wanted a quarterback as he fell into the Steelers' laps as the 11th pick.

The rest is history. They got the best of them.

Sometimes things just work out.

 

I never heard of big ben either until we drafted him. Miami of Ohio, i asked my uncle if he heard anything on him, he said no.
I was kinda like WTF, but that all disappeared the first game he played. Showed all kind of skills, pocket presence, scrambling ability to get guys open, knew than we were going to be fine!
Btw we drafted him at #11.
