Steelers Drama

How many years now have a ton of controversy and drama been circulating around this team?? This is all a result of the head coach. He sets the tone in the locker room and hires coaches. He needs to be held accountable for all the drama. I am tired of his rhymes and language to the media (more drama)... he called fans FAT, SASSY AND SOMETHING ELSE (?)...NOT ACCEPTABLE. He hired an offensive coordinator with no qualifications and acceptable experience. Kenny is regressing and we can't evaluate any players based on Matt Canada's play calling and offensive scheming. You simply can't evaluate any players with Canada as a coach... period. Kenny has lost his MOJO and I suspect because he is being told to play a certain way. Ben was never a straight pocket quarterback, Ben danced to the beat of his own drum so let Kenny be Kenny. This team should be looking for a NEW offensive coordinator NOW. Todd Haley should be called to see if he has any interest.

You guys believe Mike will lead a team back to even the AFC Championship Game again? If you do what are the specific qualities in Mike that you so admire that lead you to that conclusion. I think players play hard for him because he's a players coach, i.e. not a hard disciplinarian type. But that isn't enough in this league to get you to that championship game or the Super Bowl. No risk no reward, so the Steelers need to take a risk by moving on from a Coach that has been with the organization this long with no recent playoff success. If consistent non losing seasons is ok then so be it but the fanbase and the organization have higher goals. The org took a shot and pivoted to Tomlin during the last interview process it's now overdue to move on and take a risk with a new Coach! I hope they go it at the end of the season despite the **** show the media will throw at the organization from moving on especially if they don't hire another minority coach.

It's a great post like this that helps me get through a day from Steelers depression! You can have a perfect life, a trophy wife, a great job, money to spare, a beautiful house with nice cars in the garage, a loving family, a strong belief and fear of God, but it's just not enough when the Steelers are average or they suck. I'm like George Allen...every time the Steelers lose, a piece of me dies inside. When they win, it's like I'm reborn again. Every time it happens, many Steelers fans (myself included) put their Steelers flags at half-mast on their flagpoles, but I'm not certain many younger fans feel that way anymore.

It's like Non-Losing seasons are good enough. They think Mike Dumblin is some "premium" coach, but he's proven over time that he is NOT even close. He's AVERAGE, nothing more and nothing less. He's not a bad guy or an evil guy or a total dumbass or any of that...he's just an AVERAGE coach who's turned the Pittsburgh Steelers back into an AVERAGE Organization again. We're a 9-8 team with a 9-8 coach, which is exactly what the NFL wants all teams to be...it's just a painful time in Steelers history right now. Beer can only mask the problems when you're drunk, too, but the truth of the matter always comes back to the surface when you sober up.

These rah-rah fans in our base right now, I'm just not sure they're looking at what I'm looking at every year. I'm looking at a coach that is using Non-Losing seasons as COLLATERAL against Championships. I'm looking at a current owner who is letting him do it. I'm looking at a wonderful City with wonderful fans that are letting these average seasons become acceptable and become the norm. I'm looking at many in our fan base who simply REFUSE to hold Dumblin accountable for anything. It's like we've time warped back into the pre-Emperor days of the 1960's.

Maybe the Steelers aren't a way of life for many of you, but for many people they are. We're all living here on this planet, but the sands of time are running out of the hourglass, regardless of your age. Each day we employ Dumblin is a day we don't find the next young Emperor to build a dynasty again and give most Steelers fans (myself included) what they want - CHAMPIONSHIPS! Reality can make us numb down to the core of the truth, and the truth is simple...with Mike Dumblin, we are just treading water. He can't develop coaches OR players, and it's mind-boggling why so many can't see it. You know, Art Rooney, Sr. claimed he didn't want cheerleaders in Pittsburgh because we're a football team concerned with FOOTBALL. Well, I'm thinking his Grandson better get our cheerleader off the sideline...and fast!

I feel 100% the same way. We will never win another AFC Championship or go to the Super Bowl with this Coach no way. Just too many mental mistakes are made and the team under his watch just doesn't play disciplined enough to get there. So I don't understand the blind defending of him. Does Strummer, Steeler Glen want him to be the coach for another 10 years?? When do those guys and along with a few others that seemingly defend him forever say its time to move on? What is the tipping point??

 

Of course a post of truths will be accused of being from a troll. Canada was hired because he gave Tomlin's son a full scholarship to MD, duh. It's what this team has become. A team full of nepotism and good ole boy favors: antiquated, outdated and behind-the-times. That's what you get with such policies. You wind up with an incompetent OC who can't be fired no matter how obvious his inadequacies are.

 

No, trolling is when you make the Canada full scholarship claim in another thread and run away when it gets soundly de-bunked but continue to pop-up in other threads and spread it around, duh.

I think it's hilarious that some people here call Mike Tomlin "Dumblin". You may not like him but that dude certainly isn't dumb. I would dare say that his IQ is higher than most of the board members here... Lol

 

To piggyback on to this, it also is suspicious when you start threads and then don't ever participate in the discussion you are starting past the initial post. If I start a thread and it's important enough to me I try to engage to generate the discussion. If you look at Benny's threads he starts them usually with a controversial hot take and then is never in there again. On game day he does the same thing but doesn't join the game day thread. It make everyone think it's a troll.

I doubt he has some high IQ - they are referring to his coaching IQ and it is average, as in middle of pack, w other NFL coaches.

 

I know enough to know that Tomlin has an above average one, by far.

Never saw any "de-bunking." You can't, because scholarship to Dino is undisputable. It happened, as a FACT, and Tomlin's handling of Canada as OC goes without words. It's so quid pro quo it's not even funny. No debunking, the whole thing is factual.
