Sorry if this has been asked before, but why do the Steelers live in shotgun? I know Ben preferred it, but why is this still the base package if you will?

I tried saying it with Ben....most Qbs today prefer it. You have to go against what most have learned to like,by making them go under center.....but like most Ben was the easiest scapegoat. Now it's Canada. Funny how it was Ben not Canada 2 years ago, and I tried arguing this....,but everyone's eyes told them differently. Now Ben's gone....now it's Canada. LoL

I’ve seen that in 2022 we used shotgun around 68% of the time, which put us in the top half of the NFL but nowhere near the top.

I seem to recall Najee preferred running from the shotgun, but could be wrong on that.

Women’s flag football plays out of the shotgun

    Just a random thought

Only way for our QB not to get tripped up by the Center plus with this O-Line, would you want to be taking snaps under Center?

Well, the QB needs to drop back. If he doesn’t have to look to catch the ball, he can get his eyes downfield sooner. Plus, it’s a rhythm thing. Take 3steps, 5steps, 7steps back and immediately throw based on the route/play.

Gross. I had read about the shotgun - under center percentages and the eye test shows all the other stuff too, but man, having it all laid out like that…. Pretty sickening.

Yeah think anyone who watches the games knows this takes place. Its a very predictable offense for us who don't know much. I can only imagine its easy to game plan. Now if Kenny hits a few more open passes I'm sure all the drama wouldn't be here but a perfect storm is happening with the offense.

We pass 82% out of shotgun and run 90% under center the opposing team knows exactly what we are doing

Play action pass. Freezes the entire middle of the field as the defense is expecting a run.

Not to disagree with what was presented, but I was more distracted with the pretentious wall of Air Jordans serving as a backdrop; weird, white badge-like patch on his shirt; and his having to hold a highlighter that served no purpose throughout the entire recording he never wanted to make.

The Steelers lived in Shotgun long before Canada was even the QB coach.

I agree, but people were saying it was it was only because of Ben, but yet We still do it....., and most Young Qbs like it.

The issue isn’t really about being in shotgun too much or under center too little, it’s about what we do when we’re in those formations. And it’s all too predictable. If a defense has a 80-90% chance of knowing if you’re running or passing, that’s a HUGE advantage.
