He's useless, and had two big mistakes against the Browns, I haven't forgotten about him costing the Steelers the game against the Patriots last year with his muffed punt.

Yeah, they'll hold onto him after they move him back to the practice squad then quietly waive him injured and he'll get a settlement.

He's making too many mistakes in the kicking game to be a specialist.

Had some key gaffs last year as well.

I had to laugh at first blunder. If he was a wide receiver I'd have jumped off the couch for that sideline grab. Brilliant keeping both feet in, idiot. Hey, maybe he could replace Johnson.;)

My first thought before I even saw him toe tap was why is he catching that it was clearly going OOB!? Then it was WTF?!

Of course, if he doesn't, watch that thing somehow hit inside the line and roll right into play!

Funny, it was headed out of bounds but me and guy I was with gave him the benefit of doubt saying it could have took a sharp left and stayed in bounds. Kind of like the magic bullet that got kennedy;)

Some of the dumb mistakes a veteran make is inexcusable, especially a bench player.

Dude was a first team All-Pro returner in 2020. Obviously he didn't have the smarts because Bill let him go.

I'm sure that is what he was worried about, but he has to be smarter about that.

Right? Step on the line then field it. Even if you mishandle it, it's still a kick OOB at that point!

    Simply pi$$ poor football IQ

let go OOB n ball at 35 OR fair catch n at 25. Either better than the 8.....

I believe the rule is that even if he has a foot out of bounds when catching the ball, it is a penalty, and the Steelers would have had the ball at the 40-yard line. A few years back on two separate occasions, Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery from the Packers stepped out of bounds purposely when taking possession of the ball for that exact reason.

I just posted a comment about this and was researching who did it before I posted. Then I saw you already posted immediately after I posted.

There's a guy I never want to see on the field again.
Austin was an immediate upgrade the second he stepped foot on the field.
Who 'Toes the line' and then argues it was out of bounds, on a kickoff?

The catch and fumble was a bad call. They even called it an interception.
    Still, it was Gunner.

Agreed. He was worried about that, which is legit. Then when he did the toe tap, it went from legit to uber stupid.

Yeah but just stand there and have your one foot out of bounds and just catch it and it goes to the 40!
