I was just reflecting on the scores of games this season, and 7 of the 14 games were decided by 3 points or less - 3 wins and 4 losses. With one or two plays in those games going the other way, we would either be sitting pretty set for the playoffs at 11 -3 or be already eliminated at 4 - 10. The Steelers have been skating on thin ice for most of the season. No wonder my blood pressure is high.

Here's hoping for a couple of relaxing, stellar wins of more than 3 points.

I figured it up last yr, they avg allowing something like 19 points per game. People keep talking about getting turnovers. I agree we need them but when your defense is allowing that few of points, focus on the offense. And we have an offense that is capable of 30+ points, turnovers and the defense are NOT the problem. Even without getting turnovers, take away the self inflict damage and we ve only lost maybe 2 games. The majority of the our turnovers havent been caused by the other teams.

I go as far as saying, if the offense will pull their head out of their ass, I would take them over Brady, Rodgers, both Mannings, or anybody else in the league. The talent is there, thats what is so friggin frustrating to me. If we sucked, I would just chalk it up to rebuilding and just ride it out. But we have what it takes to get it done.

When your kicker is the biggest point provider, SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!

Turnovers and ST's penalties have cost this team quite a few wins. I'd also like to add injuries but the standard is supposed to be the standard and therefore I won't add that excuse to the equation.

We have more than double the number of giveaways as takeaways. If you make that even....we are coasting into the playoffs. If you reverse it, we are dominant.

I think honestly that what we are seeing is largely affected by age. The offense is young, so they turn it over too much. The defense is old, so what used to be splash plays for turnovers are now just tackles. Instead of hitting the QB just as he releases it causing an errant throw it is completed and the QB hit after.

I share shadowmaker's opinion--the offense has been the root of our issues this year. However, the offense has been the root of many a Steelers' season, so this year's unit is not alone.

I am confused as to why the offense has struggled so much in recent years, however. It would seem with the talent we have had at the skill positions, we would have been much better--particularly scoring points. This was an issue with BA as OC and still is with Haley as OC. We are currently ranked 20th in the league in scoring.

I am inclined to believe that the biggest reason for the offensive struggles has to do with the o-line talent and their play. Whether it's pass protection or run blocking, our o-line has not been good since we won the SB vs the Seahawks (and it wasn't great that year).

Something isn't right about that seahawks team. I'm sorry but the talent isn't there, or is it?

Something I said earlier, it isn't the talent it's the coaching and leadership. Pete Carrol is their emotional leader, just like cowher was. They will do well but never get to the show and win. Nfl teams need players by example. Ben should be it on offense but maybe our rose colored glasses have aloud us to look passed the love he has for Arians.

Haley is a great offensive mind but without your "offensive captain" on board how can it all succeed.
The media may play up issues but they are still on point that there is an issue. And Ben's comments on the offense this year is what has help create an offense that is constantly out of sync but shows flashes. (something I believe someone brought up in a post)

With Ben not buying into Haley the O will never be what it can. It's a riff between players and coach.

Its why we love AB. Young and is sold on his coach. Wallace is sold on Ben. RIFF.

We need continuity not talent. ( health also injuries have been aweful )
