Anyone else think that Wallace gave up on the INT? It looked like he could have tagged the defender while he was on the ground. Also, it looked like he gave up on the chase. I actually like MW and his talents, but this seemed blatant.

He was blocked. No way he was going around that defender before the endzone

I don't know how many times I have to say this. YES! He DID! That stooge could've EASILY Carr while he was LAYING ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF HIM but Wallace didn't even appear to know the ball had been picked. THEN he used his "fastest receiver in the NFL speed" to not catch a DB???? SUUUUUUURE. I was so mad at that play I kept rewinding it and I asked my wife what she thought about it and she said "it doesn't even look like he's trying." In the words of Nathan Arizona "I could ask me wife! SHE'S got more sense!" I've had numerous people at work come and tell me how lazy Wallace looked in his "pursuit". There's a vid over in the Other Team Talk section that's making fun of Brady for not trying to make a tackle and not giving his body to make a play. Well there should be one right here of Wallace doing that same thing! Of COURSE he didn't give everything he had on that INT.... OR MY NAME AINT NATHAN ARIZONA!!!

Wallace could have tried a little bit more to go for the ball but once picked off he was really so far off balance that I don't think he had a shot of downing him at the spot.

The ball should have never been thrown to his inside shoulder to begin with. If it had been throw to the outside shoulder then either Wallace catches it or it goes out of bounds for an incompletion.

I still stick to my original thought though that they should have run the ball right there. 2nd and 3 backed up inside your own 20 yard line in OT. Just go with the low risk play to begin with.

It definitely looked like Wallace could have gotten to Carr when he was still on the ground, however he lacks the football IQ in order to make a split second decision and realize that he needs to do that. It's the same football IQ that all of our young players seem to lack. Brown had 2 mental errors in the 4th quarter...that second punt that he didn't field and then when he went out of bounds on that 3rd down, giving Dallas a free timeout for their final drive in regulation. These guys are exciting and fun to watch a lot, but just seem not to be gamers a lot of the time. We're used to guys making plays when the game is on the line, now it's just like who's going to make the gaffe that costs us the game. Man, do I miss Hines.

THE PICK WAS BEN'S FAULT. AMAZING how it's now Wallaces. Even if he was downed on the spot it was a kindergarten field goal.

You all need to put blame where it's due.

The pick was on Ben DEFINITELY (or Haley if you're asking Ben. LOL.) But Wallace was the first line of defense in stopping him from progressing the ball any further and he failed miserably at it. There's no possible way that he gave everything he had on that play. Rewind it and watch it again. I have about 5 or 6 times easily. You are not gonna convince me that a guy with his "speed" couldn't catch a db. Wallace didn't wanna get hit and THAT'S the bottom line and Stone Cold doesn't even have to say so.

On many plays this year Wallace demonstrated a lack of effort on the tall ball no effort to jump or the short stuff not going to the ball. His work ethics are at min. just like the int in o/t it was obvious he could have made an EFFORT to cover Brandon after the catch. Way too many plays left on the field this yr. on all 3 phases.

Yes he clearly gave up, yes he was off balance, but had a 1/2 second or so to watch Carr hit the ground and get up. INT was Ben's fault, but Wallace could have saved the day reaching out and touching him on the 37 yard line.... to give our defense a chance.... and the cowgirls a chance to choke. Plenty of blame to go around on this one, and neither Ben nor Wallace can shed that blame.

A ~50 yard FG (it was picked off on the 37) is kindergarten?

It's easy to say in retrospect but in live action it's different. I remember Ben throwing a pic and Santonio was just standing there not even realizing that the defender caught the ball.

Why would Wallace be unaware that Carr caught it? He saw him make a play on the ball. Even if he didn't know for sure, you still touch the guy just in case. I'm more and more convinced that this is not a smart bunch of guys, like AB in the SD game when he didn't fall on the ball or kick it out of bounds.

Yeah, there have been a lot of plays this year where the players seem to have not been thinking.

Are you effen kidding? Ben can do no wrong. And even if he was off a bit, then it's the receivers fault for not covering for it!! And until you get on board with that, you need to stop posting! #SARCASM

Somehow I knew some of you kids were going to blame Wallace.

Wallace was still in his route when Ben threw the ball 4-5 feet off target.
With Wallace's momentum taking him away from the play, he could not have caught me running down the sideline.

Must be the same folks who blamed Wallace for the incomplete deep ball against the Chargers, that Ben threw too far to the right.

Now, if they want to talk about Wallace's over-all lackadaisical (ok, not looking up the spelling) play, then I'm on board.

I'm more on board to discuss the over-all lackadaisical play of the entire offense, instead of picking on one player.

Listening to Tunch and Wolf on Steelers Radio via Steelers.com....

Tunch just dropped and interesting stat...

AJ Green has more drops than Mike Wallace, this year. AJ Green has 7 drops to Mike Wallace's 6...

    Food for thought.

Let me be clear. The pic was 100% Bens fault. Wallace was lackadaisical in getting after the DB. Wouldn't say he gave up on it, but its almost like when he knew he didn't catch it, he thought the play was over and didn't consider that it could have been intercepted until he saw the DB running away from him. When he did, he came alive. I wouldn't calling it quitting on the play, I'd call it not having your head in the game.

It amazes me how people always give Ben a pass. I watch all games over on DVR and Ben(as great as he is at sandlot football) is not a smart QB, he has made so many mistakes in games when they are on the line and it's always the other players fault. On the drive before overtime Ben took 2 straight sacks looking for something big instead of hitting his checkdowns, Dwyer was wide open for a first down and Ben looked him off for something bigger! Result: took us out of FG range we had to punt! He does this many times a game that result in killing drives and putting the D back on the field. If Ben would just sit down and watch tape of Peyton, Marsha Brady or Brees and study what they do he could be the best in the league! He is big, strong and can get out of sacks and extend plays, but what he can't (or should I say will not do) is go with what the D gives you, he looks off the RBs in the flat constantly when they are wide open, which would move the ball, keeep the D fresh, and control the clock! I love Ben and wouldn't want any other QB but it kills me to rewatch and disect games were I see all the open Wrs or Rbs he chooses not to throw it to because he wants to look cool and make the bigger play. That doesn't win football games! Sorry for knockin your guy but I speak what I see.

And he has also had the ball in his hands at the end of several of our losses and couldnt move the ball for the win. He use to be the best at game winning, or comeback wins but the last couple of seasons he has choked with almost every chance he's had to win. Go ahead and bash me, but the truth is what it is! Been a fan for over 30 years and like I said love Ben, he just needs to play smarter football from what I see! Yeah I know fumbles, drops, injuries and stupid penalties doesn't help, but you can't look past his mistakes either, he is our leader and when the game is on the line he better be smart and get the win, not throw a stupid INT or take a dumb sack when you can throw it out of bounds or to the RB to get positive yardage!

Alright, I feel better. Now lets go out and play like we really want it! HERE WE GO STEELERS!!

That was a terrible throw by Ben. It was behind Wallace, an easy pick for the DB. Let's not dump on Wallace for Ben's mistake!

I think Wallace's momentum made it seem like he was lackadiscal in tackling the cornerback.
