I wish these things were reported as % of the cap. Because, assuming the cap continues to go up like a rocket ship to the moon, the impact of the overall dollar amounts can change. The number seems so big but if it is an ever decreasing or flat % of the overall cap budget, then the Bengals may just shrug it off.

The biggest thing is I am shocked that Brown has enough cash on hand to escrow the reported amount. That dude is notoriously cheap!

 

He absolutely has the talent to do that. The thing is he will be eating up the cap and they may lose some top level talent due to this. I have no idea how good the front office and Coaches of the Bengals are but they may have to find hidden gems to keep them cats king of the AFCN . I saw something this week that said Chase is eligible for an extension next year.

 

That was my thought exactly when I heard about Burrows contract.

Something tells me Higgins is not going to sniff a new contract this year.

I love it when other teams in the AFCN are dealing with drama while the Steelers remain pretty much a drama free zone. Of course, I’ve got a feeling ours is coming down the pike with KP, GP and Najee. Throw in Muth for good measure and Omar and Eric are going to have to prove what masterful jugglers they are over the next few years.

Yep…that’s why I mention GP as drama that could be coming down the pike for the Steelers. So far he’s been fairly tame but there have been signs that he has the makings of a diva if he doesn’t mature. His drama could be both financial and behavioral.
