I’m one of those tourists who go to places like yours when the tourists leave

I go rent a house on the NC shore every year over Halloween and I pretty much have the beach to myself

Although those pesky locals do show up on the weekends

Hey, a question I never get a good answer for. Also sorry for asking here. What happens when a spouse dies and both were collecting SS????? My wife was big income person and has paid a ton of money into SS. I sure hope she sticks around a lot longer but what happens when a spouse dies who only collected a few months of her SS??????? I've got so many answer's to that. All I do know is I would want all that damn money that came out of her paycheck for it.

Hell, I could chase young chicks with it and b young I mean 50.

Ha, I'm retired too but not yet SS age but agree with you on all those schlepping into the grinder. I'm itching for football. Heat Wave in NJ this week and the pool is already 91 degrees so workout then swim this afternoon. Biding time until next Sunday!!!

The other spouse can elect the deceased spouse's SS so you get the bigger one, but you lose yours so net net you have less dough but at least you don't end up with your lower ss. You essentially get trued up to the higher amount when applying for spouse benefits.

    I know a little bit

First call social security and ask if you can ever get through they very helpful

If one of you dies and the other even if still working is at full benefit age you will get something and it may be 100%

Labor Day to me was always the saddest day of the year growing up in the Burgh; final day for Kennywood, South Park, West View, and next day back at the gulag with Sister Mary Elephant roaming the hallways. :zombie:

Well just let me thank you for unlocking the box I stuck that repressed memory in.

Now I may have to drink that thought away

Too long ago to remember but aren't those Parks open year round?? Pretty sure I recall school trips to them????????

I'm telling you this as I have said before, I'm F-ing up that nun who put bruises on my knuckles. That ho used a steel ruler. I do enjoy this nun story from wife's side of things. Her sister was a nun. I remember having to suffer through "Final Vows". Like a solid 2 hours. So 2 years after Final Vows she is a very heavy user of E-Harmony Dating Website. That is a true story and she has been living in sin for the last 20 years. (with a man if you were wondering) True story!! She would really annoy me with all her saintly stuff. Forced to turn off Scarface when she stayed with us due to the use of F word. Then a year later she is out there doing all she can to get F-d. Believe I messed with her ass big time when this went down. Little credit to her, she picks men who golf so I do like that part.

She literally is a nun who dropped a bad habit.

That's some funny s&*$ right there. For us up in Erie, like clockwork it was no longer warm for shorts and first day of school was jeans and about 2 weeks you needs a windbreaker. We couldn't wear shorts to school anyway but sucked that the doom and gloom of gray skies until April wasn't far away.

    Kennywood closes after summer

Kind of hard to ride water rides and roller coasters in January

    West View closed years ago

North and South Park are big nature parks open all year

I was thinking the South Park swimming pool where we swam every summer and woofed down Lightning Jims (like a Dilly Bar). But used to sled ride there in the winters. So yes, technically the park was open in the winter, no swimming and no family picnics at those old log pavilions after Labor Day or before Memorial Day.

Yes but it adds to my ss that I get paid as well. They figure on your earnings. Instead of two fixed incomes, we are earning four. Plus increasing what our paid in amount is. I started getting mine at 62 also.

Actual his friends call him “Father Father”

Funny part is they didn’t even kick him out of the priesthood he is now “Inactive”

When he was active he came to one of my picnics in his civvies and late at night he said goodnight to everyone around the bonfire

My buddy Ed who didn’t know him out of nowhere said well Jesus f’n Christ I hope you have G D goodnight

Father just laughed and wished him also a good night

I then asked Ed do you know what he does for a living…he’s a catholic priest

Ed dropped his head and said “I’m going straight to hell for swearing at a priest”
