I DO blame Lebeau for some of this. Who thought it was a good idea to rush 4 or less DLinemen and have the DBs sit 10-12 yards off of the receivers? That gives them an easy 7 yard gain every time...and our frequent missed tackles makes it worse...considering those DBs have to come up to make the hit from 8 yards back after the catch is made. How about sending some people after the QB and tightening up the coverage? Adding another 5th string DB or backup LB isn't going to help our coverage out one bit. Disrupting the QB is going to do the trick more often than not (and the gains will be short because the throwing time will be short).

I think your spot on, we give games away. Like I've stated before, our team has become the new Bungals and Clowns.; but getting back to your post I agree with everything except the betting man part. I wouldn't bet on this team to win if someone spotted us 21 points because of the way they are playing and yes...I'm still upset.

I blame the coaches except Lebeau because the players are not disciplined.

I blame the spoiled selfish millionares for not being self motivated enough to actually earn the millions they get paid.

I blame the football gods for all the stinking injuries we have gone through.

I even blame the Rooney's for allowing this to happen, they need to take control and let us know they are doing it. I know they are very private but a simple press release woould make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Most importantly I blame the fans because we don't support the team, Oh wait we do nevermind.

I wouldn't expect a press release from the Rooneys. That would be borderline entering Jerry Jones-esque territory. They let the coaches coach. They let the players play. Good or bad that's what they do and I appreciate them for it.

the coaches drafted and kept these players that fumble and drop passes and don't cause turnovers and don't get to the qb. this offense has not worked well all year. teams knew a couple of weeks ago that we couldn't cover the routes outside the numbers. the tv analysts even mentioned it came from a team a few weeks ago, yet nothing was done about it.

coaches should be teaching the pass catching technique from the start. they should be teaching how to carry the ball. if the players are not doing what is coached, then it's there job to bench said player and to find someone that will play the way they are coached.

this offense has taken a step backwards. the line is not a new problem. yet we keep the same players that didn't get it done from prior years. at some point the coaches have to do their jobs. so do the players, or you replace them. it's not like haley took over a bunch of underachievers and had to build an offense here. we were 12-4 two years running. 11 players back were starters on offense. 10 players on defense were starters. how did they all of a sudden all turn into bad players?

I agree with everything but the Lebeau part. He is just as much to blame as the rest of them.
If we allow the QB time to throw, he will pick apart our starting DBs...he will absolutely KILL our 3rd stringers and practice squad DBs.
That's what happened on Sunday. We didn't blitz and gave a huge cushion to the Cowboy receivers...and they completed pass after pass. Sure our DBs couldn't tackle, but it's harder to make a tackle when you have to come up from 5 yards back than it is when you are a yard away. Believe me...they sucked, but they were not put into a position to be successful. That's the DCs fault.

A little tolerance goes a long way D.. We have all types of fans here. Some knowledgable about the draft process, others the salary cap and the CBA. Some can talk/debate about a great many Steeler related topics. We also have fans of the Steelers here that come to just have some fun and have a little light banter. One thing we ALL have in common, we're Steeler fans and want to be proud of our team. I've been on other forums and I've seen just as much nonsensical talk as your suggesting we have here. This MB has some of the most insightful, funny and passionate fans that football forums have to offer. I'm sure that after you're here for awhile you'll discover the same thing. BTW, I agree that the majority of the blame is on the players. At the same time I'd be surprised if MT and his staff think that they've been perfect this season.

It might have been posted before but we have to remember that this is Haley's first year as OC. There is a learning curve and there will be some push-back (Ben). The O line is still in shambles due to injury, not an excuse, but a fact of life in the NFL.
In so far as the D, Lebeau's D isn't that hard for QBs to figure out anymore. It still might suprise the rookies but not anyone who has seen it before. The D line is specifically set up for it to set up plays for the LBs to make. Again, the injury bug has killed us again on this too. Now I do believe in the "next man up" mantra, it worked for the Packers during their SB run. For some reason, it's not working for us this year. On a lighter note, cupcakes, that is all.

Agree with the DBs part. We are down to our #5 and 6 or 6 and 7 DB. Thats not good at all, I don't care what team you are on. If you are that far down in the depth chart on DBs, you're gonna get killed.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around, players and coaches alike. On field issues like fumbles and interceptions can be on the shoulders of players, but the coaches shouldn't get a pass on an unmotivated team with no fire, which I think is a contributor as well. All in all, it's kind of the perfect storm for failure this season, but every team has that kind of year once and awhile.

And why should twinkies get all the attention? I, for one, love a ding dong. ;)
