I know I've posted a lot about the Beavs but if you have a chance this upcoming season, try and watch a game or two! There are a lot of very talented prospects this season (would be great to see them in Steelers' uniforms).

The leading prospect has to be RB Damien Martinez (Soph).- 1st team Frosh All American, ALL Pac 12 first team, 6.1 YPC. These are his numbers as a true freshman! He is playing behind the 3rd best OL in the Country (2023) after; Michigan and Georgia! There are some very good prospects on the OL and DL as well, Marco Brewer OG and Joshua Gray to start. DL and Edge rushers like; Andrew Chatfield, Tavis Shippen and a ton more! The TE room is also very talented. The receiver room is very fast and shifty but slightly undersized (still a great group led by an All American Punt Returner: Anthony Gould). They will be extremely productive.

Questions (but still good); Transfer QB DJU (from Clemson) is a huge bodied athlete that did struggle at Clemson. However, the staff and offensive system here at Oregon State has more depth and detail (the system is intentional at opening up routes versus just letting 5 star athletes run and get open). DJ just has to manage the game. Last season, we had a guy (who won 7 games) but rarely had to throw more than 20 passes a game. DJ offers more help running the ball himself, which, along with Damien M and the 2 very solid back ups (Jam Griffin and Deshaun Fenwick), should be a brutal running attack behind that OL. Playing confident and not second guessing himself, will be the key for DJU, IMO. The backup will probably be last year's starter (BG) and the third guy (my prediction that this will be the order, not set yet) is maybe the most exciting and intriguing in, True Frosh Aiden Chiles. Aiden is a 4* recruit, 6'4" ~200 lbs and is very athletic and fast. He also has a very big arm. Personally I would love to see him redshirt and start next season (2024) and that's what will happen in a perfect scenario (he can still play in 4 games and RS).

The Steelers have gone after some Beaver players in the past. A few have done very well! Let's keep this train rollin'!!

    Go Beavs! Go Steelers!

I hope Oregon State takes the PAC in its last year of competition. I may have to buy some Beavs gear for this occasion. Realignment ruined the game and I hope they get the last laugh.

    First game in the books!

Loved to see our QB DJ U, light it up. Martinez is an absolute stud. Running behind that great OL he's unstoppable really. Receivers looked good.

Pass rush left little to be desired. I'm glad they did a pretty good job of QB contain but didn't really get home much. Secondary was solid for having a couple new guys (plug and play).

Need to put the pedal down a little faster against better competition. Although SJSU was never in the game, it felt like the Beavs never fully put them away until the last quarter!

Next up, Dan Hawkins and UC Davis in the renovated Reser stadium! Can't wait!!

    Go Beavs!
    Go Steelers!!
