I was really bullish on the team the last few years, even with some of the hype. I liked Kenny Pickett but wasn't 100% sure of his upside. Man, this team may be a ton of fun moving forward. Seriously. lots of "swag" and confidence. It should be a fun season!

Remember when some fans wanted the Steelers to tank to draft one of the QBs from the 2023 draft , I would rather roll with Pickett than any of those rookie QBs.

I thought people were looking for the tank to just get earlier picks in all the rounds and hoping for a LT or DT more than a QB.

It was just levity. I feel they did dominate and looked polished on both sides. I like the direction of the offense and they will have a top tier defense.

Yes when the lights go on that will be the real test. I think the 1st team on both sides are ready. Special teams have looked better as well.

Bring on the Niners and a lot of Wattage in the backfield.

I agree, the pass rush needs to get to the QB quickly to keep the CBs less exposed.

There are certainly still concerns on this team. Cornerback is a big one. They have not properly replaced Sutton. Peterson looks like a significant downgrade. Porter step up on the outside, but he's a rookie and teams will take advantage of that.

Ogonjobi's status is also a concern. With him, the defensive line looks imposing. Without him, they are a little more vulnerable when the games start for real. I also think his injury could force them to keep an extra defensive lineman, at least seven in total unless he begins the season on IR.

Backup center is also an issue. I guess it would be Herbig, but he had issues with snaps in the past when he had to play center. Also, he is dealing with an injury. McCollum can at least get the snaps off smoothly, but I'm not sure he's a guy you want in there for a full game if something happened to Cole.

The biggest question about this team is still Pickett. Yes, I think highly of him. Yes, he seems primed to take a big step forward this season. He put in the physical work this offseason, adding some much-needed muscle. Yes, he has looked amazing this preseason. He still has to do it in real games against starting defenses that are game-planning for him. I see reason for optimism, but he still is not a sure thing.

I agree. I see the comments on very little to assess and going against lower level guys, but where KP has been throwing the ball in encouraging, Also the different targets in that limited exposure shows the possibilities. They cannot double everyone, and the talent surrounding KP is real. The interior line of Seumalo, Cole, and Daniels is very good, and if healthy and more time together will only get better.

I strongly disagree. Preseason is the only place to see Your team against another with the rules applied, and that is needed for tuning up Your starters, and helping to pick the rest of Your team. I know people will say , but what about just practicing against another team.....the rules don't apply in those, and fights can, and do break out without any repercussions. No let's keep some Preseason. Also A. Reid, and Mahomes don't think it's a waste, and play all the Preseason, so did Belichick, and Brady.

Then actually use the preseason to get players prepared for the season.

Burrow hasn't played one preseason snap for the Bengals and has no intention of doing so. He and a bunch of their starters aren't even traveling to preseason games.

Between Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas they face Cincy twice, depending where they stand those 2 games alone might determine play offs (or possibly even division). Its a long way off, injuries and such can come into play for every team.

Steelers started slow during the Cowher years. It drove me crazy. That's one area where Tomlin has been better... having the team prepared in September.

People are starting to take notice of this team. Hope the coaching and game management can keep up. Only preseason but Kenny looks very sharp.

They’re projected to be 3rd or 4th place in the division - let’s keep it that way - Tomlin teams are better when everyone counts them out. I don’t like it, because they’ve not taken care of business in the past but that’s the way they are under Tomlin, so, keep the expectations low , lol

    it’s just preseason!
