The type of running plays on which a back gets their carries matters, too. It isn't that unusual for a change-of-pace back to have a better average per carry. That doesn't mean they are better.

Harris is able to take a pounding. He also delivers one. With the exception of one big fumble on the goal line late in the season, he protects the ball well, too.

You missed that the first time around, huh? He didn't actually say it, but it was a graphic on his show. The graphic listed quarterbacks who won't or can't win a Super Bowl. He also included a few other quarterbacks who are out of the league.

The ridicules thing is (I know a different time) but where would Trent Dilfer be on that list??? or more recently Nick Foles?? Both of those guys were back ups for their teams when the season started. Brock Purdy was on no ones list last year, and I doubt Tom Brady would have been at the beginning.

That's all true. Hell, if Purdy had been healthy, there is a damn good chance he would have been playing in the Super Bowl last season.

First of all, Cowherd is…. well, never mind that… Anyway, a more mobile Kirk Cousins is good enough to win a SB as long as he doesn’t wilt in big games like the real Cousins does. I’ll take a more mobile, non-choking version of Kirk Cousins any day.

As for the Prescott comparison…. how much more accurate are we talking here?

I said some of the excuses were warranted such as the end of Bens career when he was clearly limited and KP being a rookie. Still thought in both cases they could have used more intermediate throws to keep Ds more honest but you had to play more conservative. But this isn’t just a couple year problem it’s pretty much tomlins tenure after 2010. Lack of adjustments and unique game plans vs an opponent that is.

Coaching isn't a one size fits all. 31 coaches lose every year. 1 wins. Players make the system work. We see it every year.

Different coaching styles work if you have the horses, some luck and intelligence. Player intelligence and coaches intelligence. Players are also not a one size fits all. Player matchups are not a one size fits all. Schedules help some as well.

Many of these things are not under a coaches control always, so you have to try to adapt. You can't adapt for one or two guys if it affects three other guys. Finding that happy medium is sometimes the best you can do. You find what's the best for your team so they can play at their highest level. The other teams do that as well though. Only one a year makes it work well enough.

I understand what you’re saying but you are talking about being a Super Bowl champion. I’m just talking about winning playoff games in general. Winning playoff games mean you have a contending team and are taken seriously.

Pickett will write his own story. I hope the sports media keeps underestimating Pickett and overrating LJ and Watson. This bodes well for the Steelers.

Obviously. But winning playoff games isn’t the impossible feat you are making out being a Super Bowl champion when only 1 guy isn’t a loser. Baby steps

Through 2 straight weeks you had TD passes down the middle one with Pickens one with Pat. If they keep scoring down the middle, it should open this rushing attack up nicely.

For 2 seasons, no defense feared our passing game because of lack of throwing in the middle and mostly short throws.

They starting playing out of the 7-8 men in the box, Najee, Jaylen and the O-Line are going to love it in the run game.

I think the Offense is going to become like New England was doing their attack years ago. Hey we may throw it 40 times on you to beat you, or we may run it 40 times on you. You just won't know what the plan may be for that day.

At this stage of Kenny's young career, is anyone else noticing he seems to be more accurate than Ben was at this point? Obviously, Ben was great and got better as his career progressed, but along with our great defense Ben had a great run game to support him.

Ben become more and more underrated at this point even when he was young....He is the same QB in 2005 who had a 125 QB rating in the 3 road playoffs game and had a 8.9 yards per pass attempts in each of his first 2 seasons.Pickett don't need to become as good as Ben was in his second season, the bar is very high

Ben has a better arm (and apparently bigger hands :smiley1:) than Kenny

Ben has a better arm than Tom Brady

Tom Brady was much better than Ben solely because he worked harder at it

Kenny is off to a better start already than Ben

    Lots of potential here

But I’d like to see it first before I anoint him as the third coming

Do you mean that his approach is better than Roethlisberger's early in his career? That I can agree with, but in terms of their play as rookies, Roethlisberger was much better.
