What's Cookin? preseason dress rehearsal

well it is preseason and we should play our starters one time to see what we have this year. anybody planning anything for this last game?

i'm thinking ground round burgers and a salad. i have to work up until game time anyway. what you got as a tune up for the season? don't be on the cut list.

 

Charbroiled thick Cheeseburger mid rare on a fresh butter toasted kaiser. Cucumber and tomato salad from the garden EVO, balsamic vin and fresh basil, tatter tots tossed in cajun seasoning.

Go Steelers! Lets get the roster set and no major injuries.

Best of luck with jury duty. I’ve practiced criminal law for 25 years and have had over 100 felony jury trials, mostly for sex crimes and murders. Most people look like we killed their dog when they are selected, but love the experience by the time it is over. it’s a great civic duty. But it can admittedly be a drag because it will take over your life for a few days.

Looks like one of two choices of leftovers....cabbage potatoes, and ham, or beef, sausage, and 3 cheese ravioli. I'll probably flip a coin...since I made them both on the same day....so one is not older than the other.

 

Hopefully it's state or local. I got sequestered for a Federal trial a few years ago, and they had us for 4 weeks. Got selected again last year for Federal but I only had to call in every evening for 2 weeks.

Don't know what dinner will be, haven't made that choice yet. Started to go the game since it's here in the ATL but decided against spending the money for pre-season.

The Tavern in my little campground town has a big piece of Cod on rye dressed up with fires and slaw for $8.50. Can't beat it. I get it so often that the bartender just asks me if that is what I want again while handing me a cold beer as I walk through the door. Yep, She knows I tip good.

Awe come on, I just got it in the mail 2 days ago!

 

Trust me, it pained me to even type that but sometimes you gotta go the extra mile for a chuckle. Oddly enough, I'm sure there are people who eat their steak that way. I ain't one of 'em.

 

Wife and I went to Texas Roadhouse last week and she ordered a NYStrip Extra Well done. I ripped on her again in front of the waitress and said you could just eat my shoe and it would be the same. She got mad, again, and said why can't I get it the way I want it? I ordered mine medium rare and it was delicious. When I cook our steaks at home I put hers on 20 minutes before mine. I think next time I'm going to bring my steak in the house and put a piece of jerky where her steak is supposed to be just to get another reaction out of her.

 

Thank God, the planet is now back on its proper axis!!
