Hey, it's Christmas-time! I, for one, was so busy looking at the scenarios that involved us sneaking in at #6, I didn't stop to realize that our division chances are really no worse than they were before the Dallas loss (thank YOU Bob Labriola). I had forgotten the 3-way division tiebreaker which would break our way if we beat the Bengals, Giants beat the Ravens, and then Bengals beat Ravens in the final week (lotta 'ifs'). Of course, after watching the Giants get their you-know-whats handed to them, I'm not sure I like their chances of beating the Ravens, but while we have sugar plums dancing in our heads (probably because we've been smoking something), I think we should all ask Santa for a first-round HOME playoff game against the Colts....or better yet.... the Ravens!!!!!

....Merry Christmas to all....and to all....one more week of hope!

You know, I think that is why I am so frustrated today. I can tolerate the loss to Dallas, but it should have been won. Couple that with the abomination last week, and this team is TIED for the division RIGHT NOW! How incredible would that be? We have put ourselves in a very bad position due to lack of focus to close out games.

And how about this - beat the teams we should have beaten this season so far (Titans, Raiders, Browns, Ravens 1st game, etc) - and we'd be talking about #1 seed.

I guess, in that scenario, we could host the Ravens, Colts, Bengals and even the Jets.

The Steelers can still win the division crown.
In a 3-way tie, at 9-7, with the Ravens and the Bengals... the Steelers win the tie breaker.

After being a really solid division for most of recent memory its pretty shocking how quickly the AFC North got mediocre. No way on God's green Earth should we have any shot, no matter how remote, at the division title this season after how we've played.

Oh I know..and a couple years ago the Seattle won their division at 7-9. Not saying I wouldn't take it, but we have been at most at best an average football team this year.

And the year before.. the Seahawks won their division with a 7-9 record and then won their 1st playoff game vs the Saints.

There was a short stretch, with the wins against the Bengals, skins, and Giants, where the Steelers were looking better and better each week. I wonder what happened to that team.

I think the injuries coupled with the fumble-itis that set in against CLE has gotten in their heads and now they are severely out of sync. I mean just look - the O will look great, the D will give up everything...then the D gets staunch and the O falters...then there's the ST...pretty much always awful.

And wouldn't it be cool for us to sneak in and then still Denvers thunder back from what Tebow did to us last season.

How about when the Giants snuck in with a 9-7 record and then won the SuperBowl ...hope is still on our horizon
