Cody White definitely took a step backwards last night. He better step it up next week or he could be out of a job.

 

Agreed!! He’s in danger of not making the PS. Do we keep 5 or 6 WR. If six it’s looking like both Boykin and Gunner makes it. If 5 it could be just Gunner.

I don't understand why Gunner is not returning everything in preseason. If they have him on the sideline during kicks, cut him and save $2 million. (+2 million in 2024 for the rollover)

I like this depth chart the way it looks; I don't see how Gunner makes the team with returning kicks.

 

They know what they have in him

Having him return kicks Friday would be useless

Now is the time to see what ever other option there is

That is the function of preseason games

 

I thought he lost his return job last year because he developed a case of the drops, don't they want to see if he has managed to break that bad habit before the season starts? I am not sure Gunner can prove he is ready to return to the KR/PR duties without proving himself in games.

I am assuming last year he looked great in practice, and then when it was game time he lost his nerve and started having problems holding onto the football.

Tomlin said in an interview that Gunner lost his return job by putting 2 balls on the ground in 4 games. "Two fumbles is a Pattern"
