With Ben snd Plaxico because of his height the two point conversion worked very well

Once Plaxico left the conversion sucked

With mount Washington this should work well

If it works 50.1 percent of the time it should be used constantly

It needs to be tried 5 times. If it's more than 50% you run that.

If less points are better than why not just kick field goals once inside the red zone

More of a chance of making a exta point than converting going for 2, since when is 7 less than 6??

Tomlin has burned before on the 2 point conversion gamble. Against Jacksonville in the playoffs years ago we went for 2 twice and failed both times losing the game by 2 points. The worst was against the Cowboys in 2016 where we went for 2 four times and didn't convert any of them. The trouble with the 2 point conversion is if you don't convert it early in the game then the rest of the game you are chasing those missing points. I agree with @bigbunch68 don't go for 2 unless you have to.

There was that one season where they had a very good percentage going for 2 but then the following season it was the opposite, very poor. That was the season Hanratty was referring to with the Dallas game.

Go for 2 when it calls for it.

I don't know. You have about 5 options in going for 2: Pickens contested ball, Washington post-up or alley-oop, Kendrick Green jet sweep, Harris hurdle, Pickett QB draw. Just don't get cute with the Boswell passes.

I say only go for 2 when it calls for it.

I am still surprised more NFL coaches don't try to go for 2 to win ball games instead of going to Overtime... however.

I thought that would change more when the passed PAT attempts to 33 yards. But, it hasn't seem to change their minds.

They still kick a PAT to tie and then go to OT.

Chances are u don't convert on the 2 point plays regularly, then your stuck with 6..

    Well

My whole original post was based on if you can actually do it

Last couple of years they sucked at it so it was a bad idea

There was a time when they did it well so it was a good idea

I was thinking with Mount Washington let’s give it a try and see

    That's all

If they can do it better than 50% of the time they will score more points long run

    I play to win

I do not play to not lose

    If redzone offense is gawdawful.
Why bother thinking you can go for 2 on the slim occasion the offense scores a TD

You do understand that Zach Gentry is 1 inch taller than mount Washington and we have never done anything with a guy that towers over Washington by 1 inch. :)

Drafted by the Steelers in 2019 and still has never made his way into the ENDZONE.

Although, I still do remember that 1 preseason pass from Mason that Zach went up and got in the Endzone, and we all thought maybe this was going to be something. Well, we are still waiting.

2-pt conversions currently have a 40%-55% success rate according to the interweb. That's basically a flip of the coin.

1-pt conversions currently have a 90%-95% success rate.

In a scenario where 2 TDs are made and both 1-pt conversions are made, by success rate, equals 14pts.

Same scenario but one 2-pt conversion is made and the other missed, by success rate, equals 14pts.

    meh!
