Enough already with the "i'm a fan and you're not" BS

We are all Steelers fans, if we weren't, we wouldn't be on this damn forum talking and trying to work through our frustrations. Some of us believe we can get to the playoffs, some don't. Some of us think we are still a good team, some don't. Last time I checked this was the United States, we can say whatever we want. Doesn't make anyone any less of a fan. Some of us are more rabid fans than others, it's ok, we are all still and will always be a part of STEELER NATION!!!!!

I agree. I hope this site never becomes a pissing contest between members to see who the Biggest fan is...if it does, I'll win that contest hands down anyways. Best advice, just ignore the trolls and contrarions. This site is refreshing compared to most others-- hope it continues to stay that way.

 

I'm sorry, but those who say they don't want us to make the playoffs, or think we should just pack it in for better draft picks next year, or say over and over in every other thread that we suck are not much of a fan in my opinion. Sometimes with all the bashing that's going on I wonder if I'm on the Raven's message board. I too get frustrated with the play of this team, but you have to admit that some around here go way overboard with some of the comments. I thought we were supposed to cheer the Steelers on and support the team. One tough season won't define who the Steelers are, but it sure is showing us what some of the fans are made of!

 

SteelerGlenn , I have been a fan of this team for..............I'm not going to say. Most of the comments that I make and others make are out of fusrtation and we come here to vent with other fans. If everyone here just posted rah rah threads when we clearly sucked and stunk up the joint this board would be BORING. Yes, I've said that our team sucks but beleive me buddy...if you were to tell my friends that I wasn't a Steeler fan they would tell you to go and kick rocks.

You might have your friends fooled, but not me!

Look Slickster if you're a Steelers fan then you're family to me, but some of your comments are not very Steeler like in my opinion. I know everything is not rosey with the team right now and I'm darn frustrated, but I am going to support them and hope we make the playoffs weather we back in, fall in or whatever you want to call it. Time to toughen up and show some Steeler pride!

 

Not to throw anything against anyone here, but I really appreciate and agree with this sentiment.

 

All right SteelerGlenn, I'll stop with some of the negative post at the moment but I just want you to understand that just because myself and many others get fustrated and talk trash about what the team does, doesn't mean that we are not "TRUE FANS". This board is meant for thoughts and opinions and there are gonna be things said here that's not the most popular thing to say but understand this, negative things that are mentioned here would never be mentioned outside this board. We talk and vent amoung the Steeler Family.

What is the measuring stick as to what makes you a die hard fan or just a occasional fan or bandwagon fan. I believe that most folks look at your number of posts on this message board and determines your worthiness of being a fan of Steeler Nation. I will tell you this i live in Arizona where up until 1989 we did not even have a professional football team and at that point all my family were either Cowboy, Forty niner fans and my Father was a Steeler fan who raised me to be a Steeler fan and im raising my grandchildren to be Steeler Fans so no you don't have to be born into it or live in Pittsburgh to be a die hard fan and anyone who associates themself with Steelers nation is beeter for it. Matter of fact i truely believe those who are not originally from Pittsburgh are hard core fans who fly their colors each and every day and will defend it at all costs. I will go out on a limb and match any Steeler fan with my man cave and all the mechandise and memorabilia my wife buys me each Birthday, Christmas, etc but its whats in my heart and sole what matters most and i love the Pittsburgh Steelers until death do we part. The first time i visited Heinz Field i was so taking away i had tears in my eyes and i felt so proud to be there i felt like a real fan since i had only seen it on TV or pictures. I had the pleasure of meeting Franco Harris a couple times in person and even sat down and had lunch with him when i was stationed in Korea a real class act Mr. Harris is he signed several photo's a football and talked Steelers football with me i will never forget it. All in al if you say your a fan then your a fan enough said long live Steeler Nation!!!!!!
