There are many storylines and questions surrounding the team and players during camp and preseason.... I will attempt to address some of these with this thread..
Feel free to add your own take as well..
    That said, here goes....

Will Broderick Jones open the season as the starting LT or won't he: I think he will..... Most people look at the gauntlet of elite pass rushers he will have to face in the first quarter of the season as a reason to bring him along slowly.... I tend to look at the gauntlet of elite pass rushers he faces in practice every day..
When you practice against TJ Watt, Alex Highsmith, Cam Heyward why would I care about the guys on other teams

Will Kenny Pickett make the yr 2 leap or won't he: Absolutely he will.... Pickett showed me last yr that he had the it factor in his comeback victories... he's poised and fearless under pressure.. he can run, and he comes up clutch when needed.... his development over the course of his rookie season tells me all I need to know that the future is very bright

Will George Pickens become WR1 or won't he:
You had better believe it.. as the season progresses, Pickens will become batman and Diontae Johnson will be robin... GP will eventually become a top 5 wr in the league

Will Alan Robinson resurrect his career or won't he: ..... I believe he will be effective, but over the course of the season, don't be surprised if he starts taking a back seat in the slot to Calvin Austin

Will Kwon Alexander fix the issues in pass coverage that are facing the ilb unit or won't he:.... barring injury (which has been the main reason for his decline recently), he will be our best ilb and command a much larger payday from us next season... he will absolutely be better in coverage than our other signees, but next draft, he will need a more complete running mate next to him in order to thrive..

Will Joey Porter Jr start on the outside as a rookie or won't he:.. . I'm sure of it... Patrick Peterson will be our primary slot man... yes, Porter will have some growing pains, but those things will iron themselves out.. especially with Minkah Fitzpatrick as his safety valve

Will Keanu Benton be the starting NT or won't he:..... He will not. Benton is as athletic as they come and is very strong,... He will get snaps at the nose, but the starting spot will ultimately belong to Breiden Fehoko.. I actually envision Benton as a 3/4 end rather than a nose and believe he compares more favorably to Stephon Tuitt... the majority of Benton's snaps will be (or should be) in a rotation on both sides with Heyward an ogunjobe... If Demarvin Leal develops further, I can see a Benton Leal bookend in the near future with Fehoko in the middle (or a stud in a future draft)..

Will Najee Harris realize his potential or won't he: ..... YES....The talent is definitely there, and with the changes on the o_line, there is presumably no excuse for him not to join the elite circle of runners in the league.... his ceiling is Derrick Henry.... his floor is Brandon Jacobs

I don’t see Jones starting day one not because of who he is facing but rather not knowing the playbook well

    Yes to Pickett

Diontae reminds me more of Alfred

Among all the possibilities within the OP, Kenny Pickett's Year Two Leap along with Joey Porter's ascension into the starting lineup are of the most important. Kenny's leap will have Pittsburgh's Offense in much better shape whereas Joey Porter Jr. cracking the Starting Lineup will permit not only P2 to be used more so as a chess piece but also limit the amount of opposing Offenses having WR1s literally throwing a party of getting over 100 yards or more.

There's a big difference in Pickett facing elite pass rushers in practice, they can't touch him unlike the opposing teams elite pass rushers.
I think Holcomb and Alexander will split the duties as pass coverage ILBs, neither one is the answer IMO.
Listening to those guys on SNR Benton will definitely be a NT, they say he doesn't have that pass rushing ability to be a DE.

I just don't see Alexander starting. The guy came cheap for a reason. I like the signing, but I think people here are underestimating Holcomb and Roberts.

Highsmith looks like a beast so far. If him and TJ stay healthy watch the F out.

    Solid post blackandgoldpatrol.

I was a bit hesitant on Porter Jr. but after hearing and seeing reports from camp it looks like we will see him in the starting line up. Peterson in the slot as you mentioned. I feel Petersons experience is without parallel but I feel he can't run with speedy receivers on the outside anymore. Trice injury was a shame. Having a solid camp.

Benton will be rotated in but not starting. Yet.

I just hope all our players stay healthy and then we may be able to do some damage this year.

What’s Jones looked like in camp so far? Haven’t followed that many reports.

I heard that Alex Highsmith took Jones to school, but he's abusing Dan Moore as well

I think we can count on Kenny making at least an incremental improvement.

If we have Watt for all 17 games, the defense will be top 5 IMO.

Expecting quite a few wins this season if just those two things happen, but there are a few teams that will be tough to get by in the playoffs.

Jones isn't looking like a good bet to be the starter week 1.

Kenny, on the other hand is looking like a good bet to take a big year 2 leap.

I think GP and DJ will both have good seasons. Pickens will get more hype and will be the defacto "X" receiver due to a larger likelihood of high TD numbers. It wouldn't surprise me if DJ out targets and/or out gains GP though.

Robinson will be fine. Austin is looking really scary for defenses rn.

I have always loved Kwon Alexander's game. He won't be our best ILB (he might not be a starter) but his style of play is a welcome sight. We have a strong ILB room atm.

Porter will see plenty of snaps. He likely wont start opposite Peterson to start the year, but could earn it with good play by season's end

Benton should start by year's end. He will start out primarily as a DT in sub packages (similar to how Heyward plays) but can flex to NT and DE. Kid looks like a beast. I expect him to be a really good player.

I think Harris will be fine. I think he's better than his numbers have shown the past few years, but now with a solid OL should finally be able to put up the stats he is capable of. Warren being able to spell him and keep him fresh deep into the 4th quarter is huge for him. This is the portion of the game where his size and physicality will thrive.
