Tom Beasley was a close friend of my dad. Was a guest many time at his farm in Greene County.

As a 12 year old, I went small game hunting with Moon Mullins, twice. What a nice guy. Let me shoot his beautiful guns. Tells great stories.

Ted Petersen has been to my house(so was Bease), as a friend of my father. Years later he became Canon Mac's football coach and Health teacher. We formed our own thing then. Dude's like 6'5 and ripped. He came into the locker room, screamed my last name in a pissed way, and said "In here, now!"(pointing towards the mat room). All the guys go "Ooooooohhhh!". I walk in and he's holding a driver and says "Hey Jas, what's wrong with my swing?"(as he begins to show me his golf swing. I was captain of the golf team. Scared the s**t out of me. He said "When you walk out of the room scream 'Ah bull****!'" So, I did. And in a seething way he said "Watch your ass!". lol It was awesome!

Many years ago they would do an NFL strongest man competition

One year Steelers took 4 out of 5 of the top spots or something like that and one of them pointed out Coyrson wasn’t there and he was stronger than all of them

When Kolb retired he lost something like 70 pounds in the first year he said he ate everything while playing just to keep weight on

When I was a teen the Steelers would play Clairton alumni in a charity basketball game. Afterwards I got to meet a few of the players like Dwite Stone and Kordell...

I worked at a mall in Nashville during college and was walking through the mall to the food court (looking down) when someone said “excuse me, do you know where I can find such and such store”, I looked up and it was Thigpen. I said holy cow man, you’re Yancey Thigpen…why’d you leave Pittsburgh? I’m a massive Steelers fan! He just laughed and said “you know, it’s kind of a business”. I told him where the store was, he shook my hand and took off, saying “keep rooting for the Black and Gold”.

Was really good friends with Doug Legursky when I lived in West Virginia..super great guy.

Crap, forgot about Tee…I knew Tee really well, but before he was a Steeler. We were friends when we were students at UT.

    I was friends with Haynesworth too….Albert was….different! Lol…

Great posts here. Being in LA haven’t had much of a chance to meet any Steelers - would’ve liked to have met Chuck Noll, seemed like a very down to earth person.

He wasn't a star, but seemed like a good person. Took a picture an gave me a pat on the back.
Curious, does anyone know Dri Archer and how he feel about the fanbase?

No Steelers but my fun story is when I'll was working out in a small family run gym as the only one there about 15 years ago now I let in a rather large dude. We were talking for a bit and found out he played fullback for the Packers.

    It was William Henderson.

I told him I was a big Steeler fan and he said he was friends with Jerome Bettis. Nice guy just hanging out lifting weights had a good spotter for the day lol

Anyways from that day on he had a personal fan I had fun watching him play rooting for him.

I've met several, but here is the most recent one.

I just ran into Jerome Bettis, he was on my flight Pittsburgh to Atlanta about 3 weeks ago.

I told him Hi, and said I was really impressed how low profile he could stay in the Pittsburgh airport.
He told me he has it down pat now. LOL.

Told him thank you for the memories and I told him hope his golf game was improving and his family was doing fine.

He said family is good, golf game not too much. LOL, His daughter is going to Notre Dame now just like he did.

It was amazing how no one noticed him, but he sat other the other side of the empty gate and he didn't get on to board until they announced it.

The Delta ticket lady gave him a hug, when she saw that it was him. He kept a low profile until he hit the jetway.

I figured for the Bus its one picture being taken away for being a disaster for him in the Pittsburgh Airport.

Jerome sat in 1st class and I was in the back with my family.

I don't try to get star struck with these guys, they often want to just be normal like everyone else. I don't need a picture or an autograph.

Just hey man thanks for the memories and I appreciate you, and you will only get that out of me if I like you. LOL.

LoL....just a bit of wacky tobacky....tobacco...., but it doesn't make people see things. The Guy I was with pulled His 45 on it....I was like don't shoot it....I kept thinking it was someone dressed up, and It very well could have been, but like the person with Me said......what is the most creepy.....A Bigfoot out hunting, or a person out in a Bigfoot suit hunting Herons at 3am???
    LoL
