Girl on ESPN. She surpringly knows her stuff. She likes our defense overall but sees Inside linebacker as a potential problem in both the passing and running game. I think we all see that. But man losing Shazier has just been a nightmare.

 

You see it written on this message board all the time about tempering expectations and not getting two optimistic about a group of guys who have either never taken the field in the NFL at all or have not done so with the Steelers. I feel like that same thought process applies to the other side of the coin. I don't see the need to get too worked up about something that we have no idea about yet. I think most are in agreement that the two inside linebackers acquired this offseason are better than what was on the roster before. That in itself is a good thing and if they can find some cohesiveness on the field, that's the icing on the cake.

 

She's one of the few on ESPN that knows what she's talking about. She does her homework and is well prepared in her analysis.

 

we have 5 guys that when they have been on the field they have done well. holcomb if the injury is healed will play well. the others have played well when used. not a big concern with this group.

 

Meaning she will be gone soon.

 

Losing Tuitt has been just as bad.

 

Definitely am not freaking out, lol. Just giving an onlooker's view. Nothing more.

 

Her real expertise is in economics and already has a gig on Bloomberg News as their financial expert so yeah she probably will be moving on.

Slot CB to me remains the far bigger pressing issue. Having an Defensive Line that talented and that deep will definitley shore up and mitigate concerns in the running game. Passing game is of another story but I would imagine having the likes of Keanu Neal playing the DIME would assist in some form of capacity.

 

A lot of 78 and 79 steeler games have been popping up in my YT this week. Watching I was amazed how good some 'role' players filled their positions when the starters were off the field. Now being surrounded by all pros and future HOF'ers help, but I think you observation is spot on. Losing Tuitt (and earlier Hargrave) left a huge hole in the middle, not having the quality nor depth at ILB just exposed that even more. On paper the depth on the line is as good as it has been for a long time, OLB as well, if the new ILB's can play to their past strengths the improvement should be evident.
