He wants to get paid and he wasn’t worth the contract he had, so no real shock.

I could see him going to KC or Buffalo on a one-year deal and trying to turn a solid year into a big payday. That’s also why I don’t see him in Baltimore, despite Lamar’s love for Hopkins - too many other targets (OBJ, Andrews, Bateman, Flowers) and a QB that likes to run. Hopkins is all about Hopkins.

He wants paid, but wants a real QB. He may say good things and like Jackson, but he knows where he has a better chance.

No team was going to trade for him with a cap hit of almost 30 million, it would suck if he went to the Chiefs.

They planned it so they could get him off their books completely in 2023. Nothing due in 2024.

Kyler Murray is out for 2023, so why not tank 2023 and get ready for 2024? They had to do it now if they wanted him completely off the books for 2024; a post June 1st cut would mean half of his dead cap hit of $23 million would have rolled over into 2024.

If Hopkins signs in the AFC expect him to sign a 1 year $15 million contract that has 3 voided years added on, so it costs his team under $4 million in 2023. Under $4 million for the first year the Bills or Chiefs should be able to afford that.

I know , but it only about a 9 month injury now to non RBs, and Wrs. So He should be back about September, or October. Unless there is a setback.

LOL, I think you just explained why I wouldn't count Murray coming back this year when you said "Non RBs". Can you imagine Murray playing without the ability to run?

I know. If Murray was a 6'5" QB that could stand in the pocket and throw the ball over his lineman, he would have a better chance returning in 2023.

Side note: It still boggles my mind the Patrick Mahomes ran a 4.80 forty at the combine and Big Ben ran a 4.75. Watching Mahomes play, I never would have guessed that in a foot race Big Ben would be the winner. :)

I expect the Cardinals to tank personally. New GM, new Head Coach, Kyler Murray going to be coming off an ACL Injury (an injury made even more massive given how that is how much of what makes Kyler so damn deadly) and what is essentially a fire sale in terms of what the Cardinals are or will be doing (*cough* Isaiah Simmons... *cough) and one has the makings of a tank. In all honestly, if the Cardinals "Wallow for Williams" like I believe they will, not only will they get Caleb Williams, they have the potential to obtain Marvin Harrison Jr as well barring injury... though I believe even with a semi serious injury... Harrison Jr would get drafted anyways.

    Agreed.

To hell with Kyler's cap hit, if I am Michael Bidwell, I would opt for Caleb Williams personally. While I don't think he is as impressive as Trevor Lawrence coming out (not sure I will ever grade a QB that high ever again personally) he is pretty damn close! Having the likes of Paris Johnson Jr is not just a benefit but a necessity as having two leaders like Caleb and Paris are better than one.

Add in Marvin Harrison Jr and the Cardinals can quickly turn around their rebuild.

I would love if Khan had one more ace up his sleeve. I can’t believe how much people sell Hopkins short.

Hopkins puts up numbers no matter who is his QB, I did the leg work on this in an argument with the former analyst. Had a monster season with Hoyer as his QB. It was Hoyer or some other QB on that level as well as every other scrub QB he has played with. He delivers.

I’d much rather have had him than Robinson. What a freaking WR room that would have been.
