Week 6 in a 18 week season doesn’t even get you any real rest. You play five games and should be hitting a stride, then bye week. Then it's 12 straight weeks and hopefully into the post season. That’s just brutal. With 2 Thursday night games in that stretch! At least have a scheduling rule that says you can have one before and one after your bye!

 

Exactly this is harsh

 

The NFL should condense all byes in a 4 week span mid season.

That is a very good observation. It hits us this year, but when you take the teams playing in Europe and things like this it just adds more stress. Granted the bye also comes after you have had camp and preseason, so there is that. I know they would never do it, but pick 2 weeks in the middle of the season and make those your bye weeks, no one really benefits over the other..and oh yes F Europe and quit playing games there lol.

No matter where they play, they will always be the Oakland Raiders. Just like the other team mentioned will always be the Redskins.

I think eventually the NFL is gonna head to an 18 game regular season schedule and 2 game pre-season schedule.

I think teams will have 2 bye weeks in the season. I also think they may start the season the Thursday before Labor Day weekend.

I can see each team having to play one international game as well.

They will expand more games into Markets like Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Australia, other markets in Europe than they already do.

You guys must have a different definition of brutal and harsh than me. Brutal is a 14 hr drive in a 79 Ford Econoline conversion van with no AC in June where you have to get around Chicago and then navigate the Ohio turnpike with a toddler in the vehicle.

Harsh is getting on a plane leaving Pittsburgh on a Wednesday flying to Calgary to play a game then getting on a play afterwards flying to Vancouver or Seattle to play a game the following night then getting back on the plane to fly to San Jose to play a game with a day layoff.

Playing 12 weeks straight is not ideal but they ain't taking the beach at Normandy.

What was your reasoning for choosing the NE game as a loss especially when its a home game? I mean the overall record vs the Pats leans towards it being favored towards BB but their team this year doesn't look as scary as years past.
