From a fan's point of view...

OC is still a concern for sure. They are injecting that offense with a lot of talent, starting up front. I was neutral about them keeping MC around mostly because of what he didn't have to work with. I'm not suggesting the roster they've assemble should be the instant resurrection of The Greatest Show on Turf, but they should show measurable, noticeable progress over the course of the '23 season or Matty will be outta here quicker than crap through a goose.

 

The Steelers have also changed some of their scouts which has helped.

 

With this line and the backs we have, we darn well better control the time of possession in each game. If we don't then that's a failure of the OC because the pieces are definitely there now.

Since you mentioned it. I had a TIA last month (stroke). When I was going through the statements I noticed insurance had paid a claim from the maternity dept. Hmmm, I am 63, and now have proof I am at least maternal. My daughter said the same as you, she was apologetic when she suggested a gender reveal party, but I quickly responded my other daughters need to save their babies onesies as I may need them. Thinking of starting a go fund me page, I mean dude I have proof from both the hospital and insurance company I am maternal! I wouldn't be surprised if the Steelers new Offensive Assistant in Glenn Thomas is the one calling the shots should Matt Canada falter again. I am repeating myself with this man as he has had success both in the NFL (developing Matt Ryan into the eventual 2017 NFL MVP) and the College Level as well (Charlie Brewer of the Baylor Bears became one of the programs greatest QBs ever).


Where ever he seems to go... Quarterbacks and Offenses just explode. Canada is on borrowed time. With the pieces in addition to the ascension of Kenny Pickett.. no excuses. As you said, step up or step out.

Not everyone has just had praise for Khan and i'm one of them. Weidl played a huge part not only in the draft but the free agents we brought in. He also set the draft board as he did in Phila. It's a hell of a team both Khan and Weidl, Tomlin and the scouts. Weidl was the reason in Phila with building up the trenches. Khan makes the calls, makes the trades but make no mistake, Weidl is just as important.

I'm just grateful Weidl came to Pittsburgh and hope he stays a few seasons because he will be a General Manager with another team sometime in the future.

Just enjoy this new buzz no matter who gets the accolade's...

 

Its the attitude and focus. If Weidl brings successful focus to the scouting and draft..then that will penetrate. It just seems something got stale, it happens. This year has brought a lot of excitement we have not seen in a long time.
