I've never been happier with a draft in my whole life. I realize that it could all go to hell very quickly, but as a fan, there's not much that would make me happier.

Ok for real. Getting 4 top players in the top50 of analyst is amazing.

Washington I understand has an injury. But steelers are not going to select someone who is going to not play in a couple years. And i honestly think he'll play this year at some point.

Jones is a mobile LT. And we needed one. I was tired of seeing us do 3 yard plays. Multiple concussions on pickett. Harris not getting holes..... trenches is very important.
... and Jones can play guard and RT if needed. Uga trained rotation every day. As well he even played RT at times.

Porter is a great CB. I know he isn't versatile like Branch. But for one position (Which we need), porter was a no brainer..... and he has Peterson to help.

Benton finally stops the run. And hopefully is trained into more. He's got heyward and the jedi to learn from for the next few years. (And I'm not forgetting Leal from last year). It takes time for these trench players who go in the second or later.

I really do feel we're in a great position for the year to become a post season team. FA we went after securing more of the trenches on OL. And etc etc stuff.

Really liking the way we are looking for the future.

I believe our roster depth now after FA and these 4 picks
is much improved and we should be able to compete with upper
level teams now. Let's get to work, and see what happens. I would
think KP and Najee Harris our ecstatic with what has transpired since last season.

Can someone explain to me ( And I've seen this a 100 times already )...

Andy Weidl set the draft board...So basically, Omar Khan just had to make the picks...

" In Khan we trust, Khan this, Khan that "... Shouldn't Weidl be the real Guy getting the praise...

We've disagreed quite often between here and twitter, but I have to agree with you here. Weidl nailed this draft. Dude isn't going to be here long so we should enjoy this while it lasts.

Weidl is a big part of it. Someone from inside the Ravens organization said they need to get Weidl away from the Steelers and he didn’t mean for them to get him, he meant he just wanted him gone from the Steelers organization.

That said, Khan is still the one making trades. If he sat at 17, Jets likely take Jones and we’d have taken Porter there. Now we have both.

Same with moving down and collecting a 4th rd pick while grabbing Washington. And trading Chase which landed them pick 32. I like what I am seeing out of him.

And it’s not like Khan and Tomlin aren’t part of evaluating the players, they are a big part of that. Weidl didn’t walk in and kick them and the scouts out of the room and say I got this.

Oh, I understand... It's a collaborative effort but, Weidl is a huge part of it, Is the point I was trying to make...

Many are suggesting this whole draft is Khan...

How would you even know that? It’s really a silly comment because there’s no way that Tomlin, Khan, and others didn’t have major input as to how they put their board together. Plus Khan is mostly being praised for their positioning moves. Going up to get Jones while only giving up a 4th, then getting the 4th back by moving down in the 3rd and still getting Washington. Every guy that they drafted is someone they were already known to be interested in. Are you even familiar with the draft process?

Except it isn't silly...It was SAID Weidl set the board....OF COURSE Tomlin and Khan have input, They're the HC and the other GM! Lol, I never said they weren't...

WTF are you babbling about...Do you know anything about the draft, or better yet, reading comprehension?

My comment was " Why is Khan getting all the praise, and Weidl is getting none "

    Go lay down...

Totally agree! Then... I remember we still have the intellectually disabled calling and scheming the O. Not to be Debby downer, but we need to see Canada take a big step forward this year or he needs to take a big step outta here.

I posted a link on this a long while ago

It truly us a team effort

Every coach assistant coach and scout has input along with the other suspects

And “the board” is a bunch of boards per se they don’t limp everyone together

There is a WR board a RB board etc

    I comprehend very well.

“Weidl set the draft so basically all Khan had to do was make the picks”

That's a silly comment seemingly made by someone who doesn’t understand how the Steelers and their draft process works. It’s a passive aggressive underhand diss to Khan.

“It was said Weidl st the board”

Said by who? And if you heard someone saying that then why are you whining about Khan supposedly getting all of the credit?

I said in another post it would not surprise me with their past association with the Steelers, if the new owners of Washington (when approved) give Weidl a long look.

What I’m saying is if you heard someone say “Weidl set the Steelers draft board”, then you heard him get credit.

I’m also saying that it’s silly to believe that he and he alone set the draft board. It was obviously a collaborative effort.
So you heard Khan give him some credit yet you still felt the need to whine about him getting no credit?

Well to be honest my wife labored, sweated, shouted and screamed for many hours, then i got to cut the cord and was called father. I also had a pretty good gig at the beginning of the whole process. Not a bad deal for the credit I was given, lol

I don’t know what society you live in, but here in western American society the title “father” gets you little to no credit.

I don't think it's allowed to use the terms mother and father anymore. I thinks it's "birthing parent" and "sperm donor" now. Somehow doing the last 2 years men can have babies and women can sire children now.
