I don't know if they will pass on JPJ and trade back a bit for a 3rd or 4th, but in the 2nd rd, I want two of these guys.

    Darnell Washington
    JPJ
    Keeanu Benton
    Brian Branch
    Keion White
    Derick Hall
    Gervon Dexter
    Julius Brents
    Cam Smith
    Drew Sanders

    Branch or JPJ and Benton.
(But there's a huge part of me that wants Washington and John Michael Schmitz).

It's a tough call. The two I would do a backflip over would be Washington and Benton.

But, not going DB with one is just not responsible. So, who can I live without, Washington or Benton?

Washington, is obviously more exciting. And, I believe he could be of tremendous value to the growth of the offense, and more importantly, Kenny Pickett.

But, just as they've done with the OL, it's time to rebuild this DL. And I think Benton could be a foundational piece to this new DL moving forward.

I'd probably have to give up Washington. Even though I really don't want to.

There's like 7 or 8 players that I really like that's still available and to think we will likely get two of them, even with a trade dahn is exciting. Don't think the Stillas can do anything wrong here.

Lots of really good CBs that we can land even in the third. That wouldn't be ideal tho, but getting Phillips III wouldn't be the end of the world.

No, it wouldn't. Phillips is who I have at #80 in my mock. Guy is a BALLER!

But, I didn't anticipate this many good db's available to us right now. JPJ and Branch are good value right now. But, I know they want to get some picks between #80 and like pick #400 like they have now. The drama is intoxicating.:lolol:

This is the most exciting draft for me in quite some time. And, I couldn't be happier with the first pick.

Don’t be surprised if Stevenson goes ahead of Porter, or if Benton goes before #49.

I'm wondering if the Lions at 34, who have picks to spare, would give a 4th to secure Will Levis at 32. He could sit behind Goff for a year or two.

Even if the Cardinals took JPJ, Branch would still be there. Or Smith. Or Benton. And you replace your 4th.

Detroit has pick #150, which would be the same value as moving up two spots.

would be nice to get Washington but it looks like they may want to go back to that 3 tackle run set. We do have two picks in round two. Branch is talented and versatile.

I have to admit, and I'm freely admitting it, when I first started watching Branch's tape, I thought, wow!

His burst seems ridiculous, he just doesn't miss tackles. In fact, I amused myself by referring to him as "The Croc", as in crocodile, because almost every single time he wraps up a guy he goes into a "death roll". Watch his tape. Death roll after death roll. You don't escape his tackles. I was so excited.

Then I watched the combine. And watched him labor to a 4.58. It looked like the hardest 40 that anyone has ever run. His 10 yard split was also weak for a DB. Jumps were pedestrian. His saving grace may have been the agility drills, but he cose not to run them.

You're supposed to trust the tape, but that really put me off of the guy. Maybe more than any guy ever. But, that is in the context of him being a 1st round pick.

As a 2nd rd pick, my thoughts change a bit. Maybe his measurables don't matter as much?

Even then, though, I think Clark Phillips, who tested better, can do the things that Branch does, at least as well, and can probably be had in the 3rd. Only because of his testing numbers, btw.

Anybody think Phillips wouldn't be a high 2nd rd pick if he ran a 4.41 instead of a 4.51? You bet your ass he would. The numbers do matter.

Hoping LB Trenton Simpson makes it to #49.

To me this is Mike Tomlin's type of ILB. Simpson had dinner with Mike and Company at Clemson's pro day, so I hope he is on the Steelers radar on Day 2.

He wouldn't be my first at 49, but I'm not going to pretend that that he couldn't be a great asset to this team.

To be honest, I don't know what to do at 32.

Nothing I choose satisfy me. I want Branch, ( cause he is the best footballer) a trade back for an extra 3rd, Joey P (Nostalgia)., Cam Smith ( Coz it would make STD happy)... Not to mention my fear that we are closing in on Kelee Ringo

For fun, no judgement, favorite db for you at 32? You could say
Kelee Ringo fear is enough to make a reasonable man walk into a police precinct with a pinless grenade in his hand, asking for directions to the nearest TCBY.
