With the beef we've added up front in the off season, I expect a 1,600 yard season (and 4.6yrd/carry) from Najee Harris in 2023. I'm also excited about Jaylen Warren and expect big things from him in his 2nd season. With the running game going, Pickett will have a very good season.

Awesome 1-2 punch. Najee wildly successful when he started running straight downhill. Excited!

I'm old so I compare this Steelers team being built the way Shula built his 70's Dolphins team. Great O-Line, great RB's and a steady cerebral QB that doesn't turn the ball over. On defense a hard hitting front line and a ball hawking secondary. I know this isn't the way teams are supposed to be anymore in this pass happy league but old school ground and pound, don't turn the ball over and play tough defense will always have a place in football.

Roger Gooddell strongly disagrees and will have his zebras ready with their yellow hankies.

    I'm only half kidding.;)

On an unrelated note, did you hear all the boobirds in KC when Goodell first came out? I thought that was hilarious!

That was as satisfying as a rest stop on the interstate after 2 coffees and a liter of water.

Najee doesn't have that top end speed to be trying to get around the corner. Hence you remake the Oline and get big strong guards and this new big LT Jones, which they did, and it will help Najee run the way he needs to and that's straight ahead with the added wiggle that he has to break it outside once he gets to the second level.

Never gets old! They thought that moving the draft around would make the boo birds calm down. Wrong! Goodell is a tool.

Hope so. We had a recouping year this past season. Now it’s time for blood.

Agreed. I think He actually has learned to enjoy it....Of course if I made over 60 million dollars a year....You could not only boo Me, but I would even allow people to throw eggs. LoL

His foot injury was also a hinderance last year. Let’s hope the combination of acquisitions to the line and Najee being healthy, equate to a monster year.

Fundamental football is always a winner, The emperor said, football is not a complicated game you block and you tackle. As
coach MT calls it, we are in the winning business.

I don’t know what kind of numbers to expect from Harris because they seem to have finally adopted a two back system.

I do expect it to be a very successful ground game, though.

If he steps to the mic for next seasons draft like this, I'll swallow my tongue laughing:

Harris impressed me with his toughness and willingness to hand out punishment down the stretch last year. He was clearly inspired during the Raider game to honor the memory of Franco Harris the best way he knew how, by having a monster performance, which he did. I love his heart and toughness. I hope he goes off this year.

    Hmm...

I also believe that Najee will have a major season.. however.. just not in the manner others suggest. As @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace and others mentioned, Mike Tomlin has likely learned the lessons of "Riding Willie 'Till the Wheels Fall Off" a while back; hence finding a player like Jaylen Warren. For me, even amassing 1,300 yards on the ground with another 400-450 through the air will be sufficient enough. If he can amass more while splitting carries?!... all the better.

It would elate me more if Jaylen eclipses 700+ yards on the ground though. That would benefit the entire Offense in more ways than one.
