If he is there at #17 then I think that he has to be the choice. It's probably less than 50/50 that he will be there but possible.

He wouldn’t be my first choice, but won’t complain if it happens

I'm not so sure about how big a compliment "durable and available" is. I mean if I overheard my sister-in-law ask my wife how our wedding night went and my wife's reply was "Ehh, at least he was durable and available." That wouldn't be a ringing endorsement of my performance.

Ok do you want Levi Wallace starting at the CB position for the Pgh Steelers?

I keep saying the Steelers are going to use their 3rd round pick to move up and get one of the Big 3 LTs.

I guess I am not alone in this thinking.

That said I still like Anton Harrison at #32 with CB Porter at #17. And, I will be extremely disappointed if Peter Skoronski drops to #17 and the Steelers do not make a mad dash to the podium.

    Yep.

While they have had discussions with Peter, the team's interest in him is not nearly as strong as Broderick Jones Jr's and it pales in comparison to either Paris Johnson Jr or Dawand Jones. Now granted, I personally do not mind trading up for the blindside protector but that does make those other picks later on all the more critical. With any luck, Pittsburgh can swing home runs on them as trading that third makes both 32 and 49 all the more important UNLESS Omar Kahn, Andy Weidl, Mike Tomlin and AR 2 all just say "to hell with it" and trades pick 32 for more picks; something that will be very, very un-Steeler like....

.... and something I would be very much in favor for should the board not be favorable.

He says a little more than that. As for your wife, I thought she said you were doable and awesome. See how two people can hear the same thing and come away with different interpretations. :lolol::cool:

We were married back in 1977 so I might have been awesome back then, but I doubt it.

My honeymoon was kind of like Ben in his Superbowl against the Seahawks. A shoddy performance but at least I come out of it with a ring.

Just wanted to hop this up for kudos. And the trade only cost us a 1st and 4th, not a 1st, 3rd, and 4th.

There is an article suggesting a bad interview during Gonzalez visit is why we passed on him. I don't like that narrative. We didn't pass on Gonzalez. We picked Broderick Jones a better player.

I'm guessing that an understanding that they wouldn't take Gonzalez was part of the deal. That trade only makes sense for the Patriots if the Steelers are drafting Jones.

I don't think you can guarantee who gets taken. Jets could have easily taken Gonzalez and set up 2 shutdown corners.

I think NE just figured there were 3 or more players they liked at 14 and would take whichever was available.

I won't be surprised If they were fine With Gonzalez, JPJ or Banks and figured one of them would get to them at 17.

I'm sure they had backup plans in mind, but everything I read indicates that all teams involved knew the Jets were going to take Jones. They have a huge need at left tackle. Of course, half of the Jets fans I've heard since on sports talk radio have been ripping the team for not getting a tackle early. The other have have been trashing Jones, saying they didn't want him anyway.
