Does Matt Canada make an appearance during the next couple of days for the Draft?

Look at the teams they beat and also look at the points scored. Offense was better sure but that’s like saying we went from horrendous to the tallest midget. Not sure how anyone watching games can be remotely impressed by the offense. The literally do not use or throw the ball moderate to deep middle of the field.

rookie WR, rookie QB, rookie 2nd RB, rookie FB/TE, 2nd year LT, 1st year here C, 1st year here RG, very young LG, another WR that was traded, another that had never started in a couple of years and new here, a 2nd year RB. the other QB hadn't started in a couple of seasons and was new here. yea this should have been a high powered offense right out of the gate.

It’s the concepts not the players. I agree they are young but the playbook looks like something out of a junior varsity HS game.

The offense also looked like that with a HOF QB the previous two seasons. Granted he was a shell of himself.

you said it. the offense very well could have been tailored to what he had. both years. even when ben was here we had a rookie at center that was bad and a rookie at LT. a rookie at RB. a makeshift LG. a 2nd year WR. a 2nd year TE. a bad O-line coach. again, not a set up for a high powered offense. it has a lot to do with the players.

 

You have to walk before you can run. The team shot itself in the foot repeatedly last year. They simplified the offense to minimize mistakes. Are you really ignoring the offensive line play of 21? We had a revolving door at offensive line for that entire season.

 

It’s probably more of a mix than I am giving credit for but I don’t understand how anyone can think MC is a competent NFL OC. The numbers don’t lie I mean we can make excuses all day and some are valid but this is a results oriented business. I’m not sure his own mother thinks he is a good OC.

They're also not likely to get a WR or RB early, everybody knows Canada is a lame duck OC.

 

probably not as bad as some think and maybe not as great as some think. somewhere in between and i hope for our sake it was getting the pieces in place that will make a difference. i actually really like what we have in place as far as coaching on the offensive side right now. thomas, meyer, canada, sullivan all should make us a better team. those are some decent offensive coaches and have had success before.

yea but we lost 2 wr's and added an old LG and had to sign back a TE we really don't want starting for one year. so no it's not totally agreeing with your sentiment.

 

How do you define underachieving? Ben is gone. So....

What is your realistic expectation of the Steelers year in an year out? Do you consider injuries? Do you consider any other factors?

If you are tired of the Steelers underachieving then what hope do you have for the future as a Steelers fan if this is the thought you live with day in and day out?


I've never been "tired" of the Steelers as a fan. Sometimes teams overachieve or underachieve. Ultimately, it boils down to how teams perform on game day. Keep the proper perspective when it comes to sports. Don't get "tired". After all, it took the Steelers 25 years before the organization won another Superbowl. It's not easy to win games in the NFL week in an week out. It's not easy to make the playoffs.

What will quench your "tired" thirst?
