Wow, yeah, Butler is a good one. I’m only going back to 69 though, wanted to start with Mean Joe.

Agree about Harrison and possibly the best play ever. I’m leaning towards him.

I would never have guessed Butler was an UDFA. I had to look that one up.

Especially since they had so many more rounds then and only a few less teams.

That is also why Shell going undrafted is so remarkable. They had 17 rounds in 1974.

Shell undrafted after all those rounds and still making the HOF is my choice. I was able to see Shell take Earl Campbell out of a game with a rib shot that to this day is fresh in my mind!!!

Harrison was great and I loved when he played for us, but he also left us and played for NE and Cincinnati.

Shell is my final answer, I dont need to phone a friend or anything else. Shell !!!

I’ve seen that shot plenty of times over the years. His nickname was well earned. Must have been great to be at that game.

    Draft Day, woo hoo!!!

UDFA goes to Harrison. Another great member left off the list in Donnie Shell, well deserving of being on here but had to go with Harrison. The SB play and being the only UDFA to ever be voted DPOY clinched it.

I am hopeful for this draft. I am certain others have posted similar thoughts as mine. I am busy today and haven't yet read all the posts. My &00.02 draft thoughts are that the Steelers avoid some of their past notorious mistakes. Please don't draft any projects in the early rounds. Don't draft any Tweeners in the early rounds. Don't draft any player you plan to switch to a different position than his skill set. Don't sell the farm for a player 'you absolutely must have'.

The only sane approach IMO is based on two beliefs:
    1. The Steelers have some very real holes to fill.
    2. There are some very good players available in the first fifty picks.
Therefore take the BPA at a position of need when the Steeler's picks come up. So if four corner backs are gone by pick 17, don't take the fifth best corner. Use that pick to take the first or second best OT.

Imagine if this was one draft class:

    Joe Greene
    Jack Lambert
    Mel Blount
    John Stallworth
    Mike Webster
    Antonio Brown
    Brett Keisel
    James Harrison

The top three offensive tackles are very likely to be gone before the Steelers pick. I'm guessing the top three corners will be gone, too. I would be fine with Darnell Wright or Deonte Banks. I had thought Banks might make it to 32, but I don't think he will make it that far.

I'd settle for the first half of that this year. :)

My final guess of what we do is in line with many speculators. I think we trade up and grab an OT.

Would be shocked if we go for a CB with first pick. With an OT you are almost certain to get what you pay for. With a CB, you roll the dice big time.

Yeah, it was getting beyond tiring. I told him to stop trolling a week or two ago, but he just couldn’t help himself.

I honestly hate to see anyone cut from the board(especially if they are truly a Steelers fan), but I really never could understand what He was always getting at, and I'm really doubtful if He is a Steelers fan.

I don't know . I had a Labrador named Olivia, and I've seen others try ,and call Her, whistle, shout, and call anything, and She would ignore them.
They would look at Me ,and say.....I think She's deaf. So I'd whisper...Olivia...automatically She'd turn her head, and wag her tail.

That would be 1/2 of John Stallworth, and he still would make the HOF, lol

I dont get it, for a year I have been saving STD likes and etc. for draft day...and all I get when trying to get extra attention for the draft is silence...yet your dog hears a whisper and gets excited. I think I have been putting my faith in the wrong person. lol
