Steelers spoke with Chicago to move up

Carter sounds like a guy with character, intelligence, and work ethic issues. Won't surprise me if we draft him.

 

I don't see the steelers trading up. Now a 7th and other picks we don't have. If there's not a stud LT there, I wonder if they'll trade back.

Find it odd this came out weeks prior. Not sure if I've heard a team news with trading for picks weeks prior.

 

Trading up would be the dumbest thing you can do, if anything trade down and get more picks.

 

Steelers should NOT trade up or trade down. They basically have two 1st round picks and a mid 2nd round pick.

I was just listening to Cowherd, not by choice, lol. His comment was while talking to several different team execs, the general feeling is this draft is low on quality traditional 1st round picks, with the greatest depth at edge and TE. Jaylen Carter is arguably the best player in the draft, but huge red flags. I know the dream would be to find a T that fills that role for the nest 10 years plus, or a CB you plug and play and get a rookie year like Sauce Gardner. its always a gamble, but you have to weigh that risk in moving up against the odds of him NOT being that guy. I know the thinking is not like this in the draft room, but just the general fan feeling lol. If your guy is there at 17 you take him, if the consensus is there are multiple guys on your board and all have the same basic rating, and you find a trade partner that gets you a 3rd, or 4th, or multiple picks you might drop. Beyond Gonzalez, maybe one or 2 T's I just so not see anyone worth moving up for, sans Carter..and those red flags just scare me off totally. He might end up being that guy who ends up being a steal, or he might end up in jail, lol..OK possibly a bit much, but do you really want to trade your first, another high pick this year and next to find out? Just not there.

 

Maybe it be day 2. And the bears trade up for their pick back. And again they get khan'd.
Idk, that whole Bush trade bust still tickles me but this is Khan's time.
Imo, I'd be happy if they took advantage of the bears pick via trade and utilize it.

 

Could you imagine if this happens and he turns out to be Bush.2

 

This draft is deepest at TE and CB IMO.

everyone keeps saying paris johnson but i think it's for gonzales. i could get on board with that pick in the first. if that's what they decide to do.

 

I'm not sure he will fall to No. 9, much less No. 11, but I agree. I'd love to see them get one of the top two corners.

You don't, and you have proven as much many times over.

Pickett was considered a late first-round pick and that is exactly where he was taken. Where he was drafted does not support your nonsense.

 

Kc has mahomes. It's really no model any team can try to follow to do what they do as no one has HIM. This yr just far and away proved his worth worth what he did vs what was around him. He looked better losing arguably the most dangerous weapon in the nfl in tyreek hill. Enough said.

Tampa and LA followed the new age model. Go all in on a season with a cast of great players and try to cash in a ring. Paid off for both. I'm sure both are fine with the bad they have upcoming ss they both got rings.

 

First off what are basing his draft projection off? Overall rankings? Mock drafts? Draft profiles?

A qb projected as a late first round qb and who is considered the top of his class is not something to praise lol. The top qb of his class more often than not goes top 10 at worst and mostly goes #1. Lol anothony Richardson has people wanting to trade up for him of all people lmao and NO ONE wanted to trade up for Pickett? It's even been floated around that WILL LEVIS may be taken in the top 5.

 

I’ve seen a few ‘experts’ say they’d put Kenny ahead of this years QB class. Gannon was one… Can’t recall the others.

 

I won't let it go because I know what the league was saying about him. If he turns out good? Great. But he hasn't loved anything yet so therefore his projections are still all currently we have to go on.

 

That makes zero sense considering young and stroud especially both have higher draft grade, rankings, etc.. across the board then Pickett on any sight and both will be taken higher in the draft then Pickett was. One even had a team sell the farm to get him.

 

Because my thoughts about Pickett and what the league thought turned out to be true. Teams that need qbs always reach for qbs. And no one wanted him but the team he played like 30 miles from so they had a connection to him really wanted him.

 

No what turned out to be true was Teams don't know what is what 90% of the time.
Don't believe Me just look back at the last 10 years of 1st round picks, and see that more than half sucked.
So if a team is wrong most times ....why would anyone care what they thought????
