It's just amazing, how alot of us didn't like the ketchup bottles or the Heinz field name, in the beginning. But, are now, fighting to hold onto it! ... lol

It's definitely amazing how trivial things become sentimental over time.

as a kid I had no Pittsburgh personality reference, so the first time I heard him I thought he was just imitating Howard Cosell, lol. Time moves on so quickly, every local team gets its enduring announcers, but how great to have had Bob Prince, Myron, and Mike Lange.

I didn't hate it.. .. I just liked 3 Rivers better, but after going to 3 SBs with Heinz Field....It grew sentimental on Me, or it has a special place in My heart.

Ketchup bottle vs an inverse actuarial table. I vote the burger and fries condiment. :thumbs up:

PS: - Upon further review it's a bit more complex than just selling Whole Life and/or 30 Year Level Term policies to Mr. & Mrs Fishigan from Michigan

Sounds like they never explored keeping the previous name and incorporating it into the new one like Arrowhead and Mile High. So it could have been Acrisure Stadium at Heinz Field.

But instead of ketchup the bottle will now dump tiny animated people from their insurance coverage.

That's how I took it at the time. Like they were looking for an all or nothing deal and wanted Heinz to up the amount a lot. Doesn't seem like they ever went to both and hammered out something that would split the deal and make the fans happy.

Of course it could have been Accrisure playing that hardball at the start and now since they've gotten their name out there and saw the backlash, offering the olive branch.

In our business we used to say "visibility precedes death". We provided Corporate Directors and Officers Insurance along with other financial lines insurance products and we used to keep a list of companies that sponsored stadiums and the number of companies that ended in the trash heap after doing it is surprisingly longer than you would think. Having said that Heinz was one of those that survived this curse, maybe Acrisure will get gobbled up and go away and we get Heinz back!

Heinz survived because they are multi billionaires with a lot of political influence. I could probably bet my paycheck that nearly half the households in the USA, if not more have some sort of Heinz product in their refrigerator right this moment.

Acrisure - I've never heard of them in my life until they named this stadium. I doubt they opt for a second lease on the facility. I'm pretty sure they threw all their eggs in this basket to get their name out there.

There was some touchy years in there for Heinz. They survived the Naming because it wasn't a crazy number for it and it made sense for the city because of it's history.

It sure Helps, that the city is kind of Heinz Ketchup snobs! I don't have any other brand in my household and I can count on 2 fingers the other ones I don't mind or like as well.

For decades I would not consider any other Ketchup or Mustard except Heinz. Would refuse to eat any other ketchup product except that in restaurants. Wife would even say to staff, he's from Pittsburgh when they tried to serve up Hunts. I then realized what a fraud John Kerry was and still is today. I still use their ketchup but I don't do it with the same loyalty. I don't know anything about their touchy years financially as Kraft/Heinz is currently worth nearly 47 billion dollars. Weird that they teamed up with Bob Kraft owner of the Patriots but when it comes to greed nothing surprises me anymore.

Think it's a 10 year deal. Plus the increase along with Heinz moving their headquarters lessoned the 'need' for local representation

I know those days are over, but I love when a stadium or arena isn't named after a corporation.

My two teams were the Leafs and Blue Jays when I was a young kid. Maple Leafs Gardens and the Skydome were the names of the field/arena. I miss those days.
