Must be a formality. I'm assuming the deal is done.

Definitely depth… OT has become a very thin spot.

I don't care what anyone says. I hope he signs. He was great here, so Tomlin knows what makes him tick.

yes, me too. i think riley could work out quite well. they threw him right on the field last preseason. i don't think he was here two days at that point. they kid was tough at army. he wasn't to bad for the jets either.

I am comparing apples to apples: Trubisky’s entire career to Rudolph’s entire career. He wants to compare apples to oranges: Trubisky’s 2022 to Rudolph’s entire career. Of course, my comparison makes more sense, but it doesn’t fit his chosen narrative.

I think you’re right. Probably just awaiting outcome of the physical.

I’m guessing the probability of our drafting a tackle early may have diminished if we just signed a backup for the two we have

Well damn do we still go OT with first pick?

    Or CB/LB?

Seems that an early T is unlikely at this point.

They only kept 8 last year. I hope they keep 9 OL this year.

With the 5 starters from last year, plus the 3 they've signed, doesn't leave much room. With the 9th guy, is it a back up C. Or do they already have one in mind? Has Herbig ever played C.

BTW, I'm loving Weidl already. He built a powerhouse in Philly. Only problem is NOBODY else has a Mahomes.

No he is comparing Trubisky's career as a Steeler to Rudolph's career as a Steeler. Which is a level playing field. Comparing a 1st round draft pick and starting QB who flamed out to a 3rd round backup QB who was on a team with a entrenched franchise QB that had limited starts slants the field towards Trubisky's very heavily. You right in that respect because Trubisky's career had more opportunities. Rudolph's had very limited ones. Comparing their stats as QB of the Steelers Rudolph has the edge although Trubisky's will improve if he stays on this season I'm sure.

Your take would make sense if I was comparing counting statistics, but I'm not. I'm talking about ratios. I've posted these before. They favor Trubisky even if you don't include his ability to run.

Also, a fair comparison of them as Steelers would be 2022 only. Trubisky wins that one, too. :)

Would be great to have a kid from West Point kicking some butt out there.

Maybe take him in the second round, I wouldn't draft him at #17 though.

Yes he does because he played last year. Does this mean he is a better QB than Ben?

If one of the top tackles falls in the draft, it could still be in play, especially for guys like Broderick Jones and Paris Johnson Tomlin/Khan went to their pro days.

    Agree to the first part

I’m thinking Green is going to bump Dotson to the couch

Dotson has peaked and it’s clear the team does not see him as the future and his cap hit is more than Green

At guard Green has upside it’s what he played in college

I stated I would not be surprised if Dotson was cut last camp

This year I’ll be more surprised if Dotson is not cut this camp
