Any player in Dupree's position would've done the same thing, the Steelers weren't going to keep him, of course he took the big money from the Titans.

We should not have drafted a 1st Rd running back in a weak running back class :(

Anyway, water under the bridge now.

Every hour no team signs Bud his financial cost drops

And that’s another hour closer to him signing with the Steelers if they want him

They won't pay big bucks for Bud to be the #3 OLB, plus Bud wouldn't be playing special teams.

His role would be to rotate with the other 2

We should check and see what Lamar Woodley is up to while we are at it. I think he’s still on the books anyway.

Woodley was a bad a$$ until He got to happy with Himself, and got complacent.

Agreed. That 2008 defense was just insanely good. It was an absolute nightmare for teams to try to block him on one side and Harrison on the other. They had a strong defensive line and Polamalu and Clark at safety, too, so it's easy to see why that was by far the league's best defense.

    Interesting question.

Trying to think from his perspective of a 30 year old OLB edge rusher getting released from his big contract to see what his thoughts would be.

you'd think he'd want more playing time on a 'prove it' type deal for a year, but he is 30 with a history of a big injury.2

If I were a player for the Steelers and I could get out, I would leave in a heartbeat. Why because I’m good and there paying me peanuts. Since Dan’s death it has been down hill. Disorganization FO, cheap salaries, terrible coaching staff, to much indecision, and the people that they get rid of are the ones in the trenches, never fire a head coach or any person he coaching staff and when they do the person they get rid of does pretty good for themselves I.e. Arians.

Paying peanuts...in several positions they are highest or near highest in the league. You cannot pay everyone, when someone hits the market and can get a better deal, go for it..but this steeler cheap talk is pure bunk. The CBA mandates a per centage that the players get. how a team pays it out is up to them, but generally its best players are kept and they get the biggest contracts, you fill other positions on rookie deals and mid level FA. Nothing is hidden, that money in the pie is all paid out, some we miss on, some we cannot keep. Nothing mysterious about it.
