Qb ratings are the dumbest statistic I've ever seen.....right up there with PFF ratings.

I still contend, and always will, that if I had one Super Bowl to win and had to pick one quarterback to win it, I’d take Terry Bradshaw all day long. He proved himself at critical moments of virtually every one of those Super Bowls with the possible exception of Super Bowl IX, and still had a TD pass in that one which kind of sealed the deal. His 40 to 50 yard missiles to Swann and Stallworth in the other three Super Bowls were the difference in those games. He didn’t dink and dunk down the field like Montana and Brady, he fired strikes into the capable hands of his receivers and made big play after big play when he had to every single time he was called upon to do so. That’s what makes him the greatest Super Bowl quarterback ever and the best to ever wear the Black & Gold!

Based upon what?? I thought S.H. had the more solid individual performance ...131 yds 1 TD. You couldnt go wrong giving him the MVP

It’s when Ben was getting accused of rape and other bad behavior at that time.

Any other QB would have won the MVP for that game winning drive and TD throw.

Actually if JH had not mauled and beaten a player in the second half he probably would have been MVP

Him, Holmes and Ben were all worthy of MVP considerations but it usually goes to the QB.

So He threw the ball to Himself. Well by all means ....then He deserves the MVP. LoL

So that means a receiver should never be eligible for MVP??

    IMO....never.....unless under these conditions.....
    1. He is the only person that the Qb ever throws to, and He has all the yards, and TDs....otherwise what about all the other yards, and TDs the Qb throws to other people???
    2. He has played, and was thrown to by a few different Qbs, and succeeded.....Example: when people wanted AB to get MVP....yet everytime Ben was out ....AB disappeared.....You know in ABs entire career as a Steeler....He played with 6 Qbs, never caught a TD from anyone besides Ben, and only had one game of 100 yards without Ben???
    3. He throws the ball to Himself every play. LoL
Also....You are still not accounting....Ben had to throw Holmes two TD passes before He caught that one.

Well the next highest stat belonged to Heath with 57 yds which was MEH so i guess you could make a case for criteria 1. There were 3 Cardinals with more yards then that.

Well, uh. Yeah, got some problems with that after #3.

Elway didn`t get any until he was old and all he had to do was be a good game manager in his 2 SB wins. Take him off list completely IMO.

Have to give Aikman #4 spot.

    Give Staubach #5.

    Kurt Warner #6.

While Peyton Manning was superior QB than Eli, this is specifically about the SB wins and what they contributed to the wins. Therefor...

    Eli Manning #7

    Peyton Manning #8

Poor Bart Starr, LOL. He played when you ran the ball a lot so he is #9.

Same for Brian Greise #10 (replaces Elway). Run the ball and defense was still king when he won his.

...ranking is based upon how well they played regardless if they won, or not.

Actually I didnt, I just didn't see a whole lot of production out of the rest of the receiving core.

That's not entirely true. Holmes and Ben were both worthy of the MVP. Did Holmes get it over Ben because Ben was unpopular? Possibly, but Holmes was just as worthy. Ben had one good drive, otherwise he didn't do anything special that game. It was a good game from him, not bad but also not great. He had a good drive with 1 ridiculous throw

STD hates WR. He thinks a good QB could make you and I look good.

I don’t think there is any rule against it. Is it not allowing you to?

I guess You forgot the TD Ben already threw to Holmes right before that one....that was easier, and Holmes let go right between his hands.

I do believe it ridiculous to give a trophy to a Guy that had half the yards thrown, and not even half the catches thrown. Sorry.
If You only go by what one Wr on any team catches, and scores for most games....You won't win many games. Let alone a SB. So Yeah I think it's dumb.
