Draft Interviews

The Steelers have started early this year, interviewing Nick Andrews (DL, Bethel University) and Dax Hollifield (LB, Virginia Tech) at the Tropical Bowl. They also interviewed Justin Ford (CB, Montana) at the Aloha Bowl.
Guess you can see where there priorities are.

How??? The Game hasn't even been played yet???
I'm confused.

 

The game is Thursday. Players and scouts are there for a good amount of time prepping for the game.

Pitt offensive tackle that played with KP. nice. keeping Moore and okrafor most likely if they go this route. unless they move back somewhere though he would probably have to go in round 4?.

 

Looks like he's a round 4/5, depending. Like a lot of players, the combine could move that up or down. Don't have a problem with that, especially if he is the second o-lineman taken. A 1st round tackle, O'cyrus Torrence or Jon Michael Schmidt would pair nicely with him.

 

i'd like to see schmitz as an early pick. a corner somewhere in there. TE washington. not crazy about the D-linemen early. maybe a LB'er.

 

If Torrence is there at #32, I would be okay with them taking him that would help the run game.

 

steelers met with dewand jones OT ohio state and cody mauch OT north dakota state. added with carter warren OT pitt. i had mentioned jones here before. more right tackle. there are other positions as well but these are the OT's so far. looking like these guys may come in around the second or third pick for us, i'd say. 32- 49. o'cyrus was mentioned wanting to play for MT. on a side note, more chatter about tyler lewan wanting to play for MT.

having flores there seems concerning unless we can retain him. if he's off to another team, why is he scouting for us?

 

I doubt highly Flores is going to another team. If he was, he would be gone by now.

 

the league year hasn't even started yet so there is time. i would take him back for sure.

 

Steelers met with DL Keanu Benton at the Senior Bowl. #4 ranked DT on NFL.com

 

I have drafted him in several mock drafts.

 

He's a guy they should take at #49, or in the third round if he's still on the board.

He has certainly garnered quite a bit of attention. I guess my only gripe is his pass coverage skills. Don't think you can question him against the run.

 

They've actually spoken to 4, according to the article. And by the looks of it, there's a first rounder, a second rounder, a third rounder, and a 4th rounder.
