He's been suspended for 1 game for poor conduct that's detrimental to the team...

They suspended him not the NFL.

 

Not sure what's going on. Hate to speculate, but if you sit who is supposed to be your best running back I could only imagine how pissed Mendy had to be. Probably told Tomlin to shove it.

 

I'll be interested to see what "conduct detrimental to the team" means. It's not like we haven't had players whose conduct has been far from beneficial for the team, after all...

 

Yeah, I'd be interested in hearing specifically what actions/inaction on the part of Mendenhall are being deemed "conduct detrimental to the team". I'll reserve judgement until then. But it doesn't sound good for Mendy...

Could it be Rashard is having a temper tantrum since his benching, since he's been made inactive. Could it be that he's been late, un-cooperative, disinterested since all that started?

I have no inside info, I'm just guessing, but it's the only thing I can think of that makes sense.

Menhenhall is as good as gone after this year. But I'll tell ya', with a bit more time to heal his knee, some team could get a pretty decent RB at cheap price in the off season.

 

do they ever let us know "detrimental" i'd like to know too but keep it in house is better. still wanna know sometimes

 

I'd love to know why all this started in the first place, but maybe Tomlin has quit on Mendy?

 

Batch signed with some FLorida team so he musta had a clause allowing him to come back to the NFL. Not sure if i like batch anyway,

I don't really know what the big deal is anyway, if he's inactive or suspended? Either way he's not playing.
This season keeps getting better and better!

 

If I were him, I would have told the HC to Go F himself after he said that there would be no changes in RB line-up at his presser today. And that alone could get you a game I would imagine. But, nobody will ever know what really happeend. Regardless, Mendy is gone after this yr for sure and his last play as a Steeler may very well have been a fumble against the Clowns.

 

That 2008 draft is looking worse all the time.

why should he get paid for not showing up for work , if I take a day off I am not paid ....if I do not call off I may get more time off than I bargained for too .....

one thing is for certain he has bought a 1 way ticket out of town at seasons end

 

I think it's a shame a guy comes back from ACL early to play a good game against the Eagles, goes down with an achilles, comes back and makes mistakes against the Browns, and is benched to the point of not dressing. Especially when it's a guy who's carried this team when there were QB issues.

Mendenhall appears to be highly intelligent, so I hope he is adequately applying that intelligence with this situation. It sounds like he may be acting out of frustration, IF the reports of him not showing for the game are true. I hope it can all be worked out. I like his RB skillz...

 

I had a gut feeling for the last few weeks...theres other stuff going on behind the scenes that we do not know about. Maybe the first game was because of the fumbling...but there had to be more...and it seems like there was and things have only got worse. Sad situation...as I...like a lot of others here...thinks he has a lot of talent and potential. Such a shame.
