Seriously. I understand not liking a team but I'm not sure why some people can't give credit where credit is due.

But what do you base that on? Almost every week they hammer the opposition. They easily beat a Denver team that spanked us. They demolished a pretty good Colts team. They are smashing a very good Houston team. They destroyed a Jets team that was giving us a run for our money until we gave their QB a concussion. You say they're not who we think they are but what do you base that on? What are they then?

Yeah, any team can have a bad game... But the Pats are putting up 35 PPG and put up 21 in the first half against the 6th ranked defense that is only giving up 18 PPG.

did anyone watch the pregame? they were talking about JJ swat batting balls away this year while watching the qb's eye's and jumping at the right time. all NE did was practice with their d-linemen holding up tennis racquets and brady looking away til the last second and then throwing. not one ball was touched in practice. inovation, good coaching, smart thinking. something we lack around here. big difference in staff and preparation. it shows too.

Thank god Tomlin said he isn't going to change how our team prepares. Why would he want to adapt or alter our preparation based on our opponent. Apparently only HOF calibre coaches like Belichek do that, we don't need to be doing that nonsense in Pittsburgh. Instead, we have a loud mouth who loves to hear himself talk rather than actually coach.

Saw that too. Thought it was a pretty damn good idea too.

On a side note, it looked like Brady took a H2H hit and no flag was thrown. How 'bout that??

pretty soon they will just give tom tom a flag of his own to throw. LOL you know we laugh and get mad about the flags they get but it's coached. don't think it isn't. their receivers do it all the time when the ball is incomplete. if they get one third of those calls in a season it's worth it and keeps drives alive. they make the refs see things that usually are not there. good coaching makes a difference. we don't have that, and not just at the top.

The pats are well coached and conditioned. All the players are prepared and ready to answer the call, there is no blind loyalty with them, if you're slacking you're sitting. I also don't see any guts hanging except wilfork. All that said they were the same type of machine last year that we went up and down the field on. They looked just as dominant two years ago when they beat the jets 45-3 then three weeks later lost a home playoff game to those same jets. I know one thing though, the steelers have me so confused right now I dont know what to say about them. It almost seems like we need to face a winning team to look like we have a pulse.

This is just how i feel, i dont care what happens in the regular season, ,Hell woudn't surprise me one bit if the PATS get knocked
out the 1st round this year, ........ Just like it didn't surprise me that the Steelers came flat last Sun, anyway JMO and no one is gona change

Here's the problem I see with the Pats. They are an arrogant football team to a fault. Even in a blowout, they are trying to put up more points. The problem with this isn't so much running up the score as it is showing too much of your hand. When you score more TDs than any team, you also SHOW all your ways of SCORING TDs. Case in point: the Julian Edelman end-around a couple of weeks ago against the Colts when the game was already decided. There was NO reason to run that play. None. And now, every coach has seen it. The Patriots are like the Mario Andretti of the NFL: They keep the pedal to the medal for 400 miles, build a two-lap lead, but then burn the engine out in the process.

Maybe the Texans are not as good as their record would indicate....I think we can beat them in their House not so sure about the Pats...This leads us to another huge problem almost every road goes thru Denver....I have been playing with that simulator for Hours and going to Denver is a preety good bet if we make it in....There is a bunch of different ways we get in ,but almost all of them end up putting Denver in our Path...

How did we travel last year? And in the past?I think we need to rent a College field or Something and fly out early....I know that seems a bit strange ,but it is something to be thinking about....I mean leaving on Monday and doing all our stuff in Denver to get our guys use to the Air up there...

you guys are missing the point. it's not about the patriots per say. it's how they are coached to succeed. they do the extra things to put their teams in position to win. they don't always win but more often then not. they do it on a far regular basis then anyone. i hate them for this, but love the approach.

i'd love to see our young coach be innovative this way. the pats are prepared to play even though each man may not be a star. they get the most and then some out of players. they make these type players play above the mark on a very consistant basis. coaching makes a huge difference. as our stars leave, alot of things are starting to surface. the level of teaching is not the same here as it is in other cities. we seem to be spinning our wheels while others outplay there players abilities.

I think you are right on with your analysis Mac, The patriots seem so much more prepared and disciplined
than us. I hate the Pats and the Ravens worst than any teams in the league. Bellicheck seems to have
a handle on all his players, and they preform year in year out for him? I doesn't hurt to have Tom Brady!

The Texans at 11-1 got BLOWN OUT by a 9-3 Patriots team with total domination and the rose colored glasses clowns on here think that the Steelers somehow can handle either team easily. You people are down right dillusional.

Brady and Belicheck would eat our no pass rush defense for lunch and Tomlin would simply be out coached by the Texans.

I'm a Steelers fan through and through but to believe that the Steelers would have a chance against either team away from home after the performances they have put forth this season is almost like believing in the Tooth Fairy.

If the Black N Gold make the playoffs they will be one and done against the Bronco's, Patriots or Texans. The only hope is to play the Ravens in order to make the second round.

Call me a fair weather fan if you want but I just don't see us doing much this year should we make the post season.

You make good points, But it's why it's sport anything can happen, the Patriots have lost 3 games this year, so they can be beaten, however the looked awesome last night.

But it's like it's the 1980 USA men's hockey team vs Russia for goodness sakes, the Patriots can be beaten.

Because it's the "easy" "soft" teams that we seem to have troubles with. For some reason, games like this that we are suppose to lose, we somehow seem to be able to pull out the W. Teams like the clowns, chiefs, raiders, etc....we somehow always seem to be able to find ways to lose.

That division has been bad for a long time. Afc north always has 2 or 3 teams in playoffs.

Not that I'm saying we can beat NE, but...keep in mind this same NE team *WITH* Gronkowski, lost to the Ravens...whom we beat. Plus the fact that we tend to play down to bad teams and up to good teams...

    Just sayin...

That in of itself squarely falls on coaching. Belicheck, as much as I can't stand him always takes care of the teams he is supposed to manhandle and he usually does it in dominating fashion. Quite the contrary is Tomlin whose teams somehow always struggle to win big no matter the competition. Just once I would like to see the Steelers up by about 4 TD's at halftime. It would do wonders for my anxiety.

And he (Tomlin) shows why every time he says "We don't look back.."...Umm...why? To quote someone famous: "Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it". The only way you get better is to look back at what you have done wrong in the past, Mike.
