Hated seeing the stadium empty in the fourth quarter today. I couldn't imagine leaving a game early, but I only go once a year.

I couldn't either, but I have season tickets to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and if I went to a Leafs game like that, I would definitely walk out before it was over. No way the team deserves to have my undivided attention the entire night when they don't show up themselves.

I was glad e everyone left. And I was glad they were booing the crap we put on the field today. Almost everyone there spent hard earned money to go today and our team couldnt bother to show up. I usually never leave early, but I would have today.

Close, but not quite. I live in Kingston (actually out in the sticks, but Kingston is only about 25 km's away from me). I sell most of my tickets, but usually get to 10-15 Leafs game every year.

I would like to say I'd have walked out because watching the ass beating they got today wasn't worth it.

But in all honesty I'd still be there taking it in.

Steelers games are sacred in person.

Ooh I see, I can't get into Maple Leafs hockey anymore. It's hard enough the Steelers losing 6 games, can't imagine how I'd be about Leafs losing 40 lol

I'd have done the same. I've sat in Jacksonville for a couple of the losses and stayed until the clock hit 00:00.

I only left one early and that was a pre-season in Washington. My friend was worried about her babysitter.

Eventually you go numb to the losing and it stops hurting.

If the players on the field don't want to stick it out, why should the fans.

The players themselves never showed up, maybe they were
too busy thinking about their Christmas shopping?

Right on and if there was any real justice the organization should have refunded everyone's money for that sorry assed performance.

They paid for the seats, it's their right to leave when they want. But, for the few that stayed around toward the 4th quarter and watched in the rain, mad props to you guys, true fans, win or lose.

I'm just glad I didn't take the trip to see that one, just down right awful.

Exactly. I mean, I almost always stay and I dont expect and undefeated season every year but I do expect effort and, yesterday, there was NONE. I was SOO close to getting tickets for that game on Friday. I would have been HOT had I shelled out 300.00 + for that :bscow:

That's another problem. For no reason should a ticket cost $200-$900 for a regular season game. This game is such a fun past-time and hobby and tradition in my family yet I have only been able to afford to take my wife to one game because for a Sunday afternoon, we don't have too many $600 cash wads laying around to get us both in the gate.

I remember when I was about 12 yrs old my Dad took me to see Oklahoma Vs. Pitt and the Panthers got blown out 49-0 and I kept seeing droves of people leaving so I said to my dad something to the effect of why don't we just go. He looked at me like I was nuts and said he will never leave a game early. That would be quiting on them.

Yesterday I would have been tempted had I been there but I know for sure I would have stayed to the final whistle.

Hard to blame any of them, hope it sent a strong message to the team, I bet that is a very rare occurrence in that stadium.

Exactly. Of course I dont WANT our team to be booed and have all the fans leave, but I am hoping our team took note of it yesterday. It was hard to miss.

Who stays in the chicken house to watch the hens lay an egg? This was an important game to stay in the playoff hunt, to come out and play flat against a 4 win team, in a home game no less would make any fan speak with their feet that if you dont give a crap, neither do we.........

The ironic thing is that the Chargers didn't notice at all - the crowd in the 4th qtr at Heinz is about how many they draw at the Murph in the 1st qtr. I'm now sorry this game wasn't blacked out in LA just as the previous two weeks were when the Chargers played Cinc and Balt. I don't think reading about the game could have matched the sheer ugliness of having watched it.

I'm now searching for the moticon that repeatedly vomits. Anyone?? Bueller???
