Had hopes the O line would play better, but Colon going down and the shuffling of players is taking a toll b/c Ben was running all day. Wonder how bad Colon's knee really is? Down the stretch especially with the Cowboys pass rush is a huge concern

I wonder with the annoucement of Kugler going to UTEP after the season, had any barring on the offensive line lack of motivation. I've never like a coach being targeted during the season. They shouldn't be allowed until after the season is over.

Another NFL team isnt allowed. Problem is, he was targeted by a college team.

If Colon has swelling in his knee....I'm guessing he probably needs a scope to clean it out, or he needs surgery, but is holding off until season ends.

I'm sick of the large heavy footed offensive linemen, you can count Colon, Gilbert, Foster, and maybe even Mike Adams among them. Unless you are an unmoveable force you are a liability in the pass game and may struggle to get a push in the run game.

I would rather have athletic guys with some fight in them. Pouncey could play any position on this line better than the current starter.

I mentioned this on another thread but I think the Steelers need to cut ties with Colon after the season. He can't stay healthy and his play has been mostly mediocre.

They played so well last week. Ben did not have half the protection that Batch had.

Honestly his play reminds me of Kemo... okay when healthy, a liability to get penalties, and now is suffering swelling in the knee. Steelers were somewhat quick to show Kemo the door, I suspect they will do the same with Colon if he doesn't run it around.

Pouncey is a better center than guard, seems like he gets pushed around a little at guard. Right now Foster seems like the best guard. Can DeCastro play left guard?

Agree with Colon, time to cut the ties, can't stay healthy and way too many penalties, had another crucial one today.

 i wonder where i've heard this before?

beachum again a solid game. nothing came from that side. :applaud: good job kid. now for the rest of da bums. we need two guards or one guard and a tackle minimum. i don't care how much it costs, get rid of this crap we put on the field. colon, starks, foster, legursky all looked like a pile of chit still. pouncey you were close. one of his worst games.

They should change the rule to colleg as well. How can you really focus on your job when you know that you are leaving. And how can football players really believe in you when you are moving on. But they are professionals I guess.

He is a pretty big cap hit, so unless he restructures heavily, I say cut him

I would keep Starks at Tackle and Beechum at RT. Pouncey played his worst game but it was at guard so he gets a pass. Legursky is a good backup center but that's it.

The rest can go. But I think Colon is owed alot of money and he's not going anywhere. We just hope DeCastro can deliver.

But we have Starks(Adams), Colon, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert as our possible starting lineman next year and it seems we still need to draft linemen in the first round. We might have to go with what we got and go in a different area so other areas don't get to far behind.

I just don't like some of these big heavy footed lumbering guys we have. Tunch and Wolf were saying these NFL guys today are so big they can't even squat down and get into proper position before the snap to explode off the ball. No wonder the running game suffers.

Beachum played ok today again. He looks more atheletic than our other tackles. I am wondering if he continues to improve we keep him at RT. GEt DD with Pouncey and we need another guard. Hopefully Adams can improve to overtake Max.

Colon isn't going anywhere, releasing him will cost us 6 million against the cap.

Not one of Colbert's better moves signing him to an expensive and long contract. Guy can't ever finish a season out.

The Chargers had this week scouted pretty well. They brought everyone and I mean everyone to the line with the exception of a deep safety. They jammed the receivers at the line and went heavy blitz on almost every play. It is easy to point fingers at the oline but realistically if the Chargers are sending 6 or 7 guys on a blitz it is tough for five guys to pick them up. Last week the Ravens weren't blitzing more than the line could handle and it allowed them to look good keeping Charlie clean. The Chargers were at the line in force and saying ok try to run against an 8 and 9 man front. Try to beat us with the quick pass. THey had a good game plan that they executed.

and ben is not a quick read qb. add still being injured and rusty and it makes for a long day.

what disturbs me the most was this whole franchise quit. i think in my 53 years as a fan this was the first steeler team i've seen quit. from the head coach on down. with 2 minutes to go in the 3rd, when we didn't stop them going down the field, they folded and quit. not going for two the head man set the pace for it. sure chances were slim, but you don't quit. this is the pittsburgh steelers all you players and coaches are representing. the pittsburgh steelers are bigger than any of these players or coaches. they deserve a better effort. the lifelong fans deserve a better effort.

    that's why people left.
