I believe He meant....Does any team want that much time off....like it would be a be a bad thing ....not a good thing. I agree with Him. No way I want the team I root for getting that much time off before playing a game. JMO.

I think I wouldn't want My team with 2 weeks without playing a meaningful game going into the playoffs against hungry teams.

I’m like whatever happens happens at this point. When you’re having to rely on other teams to clinch a playoff spot for you, you deserve whatever happens. I hope we make it, mostly because it would give some invaluable experience to our young guys, especially Pickett. Because of our early season failures, we’ll have to wait with bated breath and accept any outcome that occurs.

Yep. It seems as though the Steelers find themselves in this situation a lot lately. For Goodness sakes I remember being 10 rows from the top of the North End Zone in freezing weather screaming with 60,000 other fans for Baker Mayfield to save our season.

That always hurt the Peyton Manning Colts whenever they had the division wrapped up by Thanksgiving. They rested everybody the last few weeks and were flat year after year in the first playoff game.

The bills still need the clinch the #2. The 2 seed gives them a second home game, if they win on wildcard weekend.

I guess Bill can also still get #1 seed if KC loses and Bills win.

Why not just cancel the raiders chiefs game

Raiders are eliminated and are going to lose anyways

sounds like they're motivated to go out there and play. whether they play the entire game though is a different story. if i had to guess, i'd think McDermott would leave it up to the players, who will certainly want to start and finish the game. going three possible weeks without hardly playing any meaningful football is not a good way to head into the playoffs, especially with the emotional trauma of the past week. you want to get out all the rust and nervous energy now, before the playoffs.

The good news on Hamlin has to help. While emotionally drained I think effort to win for demar will be enough

Just saw on the NFL Network some of the scenarios that was just announced by the league. If the Chiefs and Bills both win this weekend and meet in the AFC championship then the game will be at a neutral field. Right now they are discussing either Atlanta or Indianapolis.
If the Bills and Chiefs both lose this weekend and the Bengals win, then the AFC title game will be played at a neutral site if the Bengals reach the title game and their opponent is either the Bills or Chiefs.
One other thing that will come into play Sunday is the result of the Bengals/Ravens game. No matter who wins the Bengals will be the #3 seed and the Ravens #6 and will play each other in the first playoff game. But if the Ravens win on Sunday and sweep the Bengals then there will be a coin toss to decide whether the Ravens or Bengals host that game. No mention of 8 teams going into the AFC playoffs.

If Bills don’t win, they will not get the neutral site should they make it to Championship game.

NFL was free to announce this as they know the Steelers will wipe the floor with the Bills in wildcard round, then demolish the Chiefs in the divisional round. Only to smack whomever wins re-rematch of Baltimore and Cincy.

I don't understand why they can't just move everything back a week after this weeks games are played. So they can play that game.
No matter what they do going forward......it will not hinder, or help the health of Damar Hamlin now.

Do you mean to give a bye to all of the playoff teams to make room for the cinci/bills game?

I don't think it's good to give every team a bye as it ruins part of the excitement of the first playoff weekend. At this point, Hamlin health isn't the concern - only maintaining entertainment value is important.

Agreed, but not playing Bills/Cincinnati, and making a team that should maybe have a home field playoff game play elsewhere...I don't see how it helps the excitement really. IMO

ya. No real good option here. There’s even a coin toss decision tree between ravens and bengals! Lol

The coin toss will only happen if the ravens win on week 18 and they face each other in the playoffs. If the ravens lose on week 18, the coin flip is completely off the table regardless if they meet again or not

Coin flip happening seems to be more likely than Steelers making the playoffs. :)

Bengals fans around these parts are crying so hard right now it might actually flood the Ohio River. Most of them feel they should have been given the win Monday night saying they were getting ready to take a 14-3 lead and there was no way the Bills could have kept up with Joe Burrow and company.

Colts said no to using their stadium for a game. The stadium is booked out that weekend.
