He makes a good point they might have to consider trading down they could use more picks, they're without a fifth and sixth this year I believe, and they aren't likely to get any comp picks either.

    Yep.

Ideally though, I would want Houston to win and Chicago to lose. However, should that not happen.... 33 is by no means a death sentence. I personally hope that O'Cyrus Torrence is still there.

I have a dream of having the 31st pick also(without trading for it)

I like our foundation and a couple right picks early could really boost this team. I am not an NCAA guy. Wondering if there are any QB's that have teams salivating at the mouth????? If there are, please let them go to NFC teams.

32 seems like a good spot for one of the 2nd tier OL/DL guys in this draft that could end up being an anchor for our trenches for years to come. If I'm trading a 2nd round pick it's our 2nd pick of the draft and not the 32nd or 33rd overall.

    Right now
    1st - 15th
    2nd - 34 and 50
    3rd - 81
    4th - 118
    5th - n/a
    6th - n/a
    7th - 236

There's potential to grab a LB, OT, CB/S, DL
Kind of thinking Joey Porter Jr might be a good-looking CB - if we are lucky.

I don't remember how we lost our 5th and 6th rounder. Who did we trade them for? Traded to move up in last year's draft?

The 5th went to the Seahawks for Witherspoon

6th went to the Broncos for Malik Reed after Watt went down

They would be more likely to get more back in return by trading that Bears pick though, if a team offers you their second round pick and their fourth round pick I would take it.

Fields is out this week for the Bears and they are starting Nathan Peterman and his career record of 3 TD's and 12 picks.

They need to hit on some picks this coming year. Wouldnt mind going all defense.

Austin will be like a bonus coming back. Hopefully he can sure up the return game and add some speed at wr, but I'm not seeing a need to take any skilled off positions....sure they'll grab some OLine, but the current crew will only get better despite how poor they were earlier in the season.

    Good point on Austin.

I may be in a minority but I don’t want the Steelers trading back. I don’t want two Kendrick Greens if there’s a Creed Humphrey available.

I don't think trading back is a good option if the current positions hold.
Unless you are absolutely positive the player you absolutely want will be there at your trade down spot.
Right now, they could potentially grab 5 good players (provided scouting has done their homework)
Work Free Agency the right way, and you've got something.
I do hope they move on from Canada, and upgrade Austin if they can.

I bet the McCaskey's are rolling in their graves. They have poor mgmt in place
for the Monsters of the Midway. They need to turn that ship around.

Nobody is talking about our current or last year's draft? Pickett, Pickens, Leal ,Warren, Robinson.
Looking like a pretty nice class. Hoping they keep inproving.

I've already seen mock drafts with the Steelers taking him with that pick from the Bears. I wonder what they would do if he and Torrence are both still on the board at that point. I'm guessing Torrence would be the pick.

Good question. I am also predicting an OL at this Pick and hoping Siaki slides to our 2nd 2nd pick.

Basically the first 3 picks need to be be starters. OT, DL, CB. The 3rd round can go to an OLBer. Yes they don't have a 5th or 6th but at this point I wouldn't trade down.

I feel that the ILBers will be Jack, Spillane, Robinson and Crowder.

Hopefully they sign Sutton and grab a FA not off the scrap heap if they don't draft one. Maulet's arrow has been pointing up. And they have Jackson III but I worry about his fragile back situation. Wallace will be back. Witherspoon is signed but cutting him will only be 1.482.500 dead cap. I'm not much for his toasted play. And Pierre well, he is Pierre oui oui.

Strong Safety I believe they will offer a contract to Edmonds as long as its not crazy and hopefully retain Kazee as well for another year.

With Johnson, Pickens, Sims and Austin III plus a FA they should be in good shape.

Gentry is a UFA after the season and I wonder if they will sign him. Heyward might just slip into the spot.

If they do draft a monster they might not retain Ogunjobi. He will want a deal and not a one year flier. Made 8 mill this season. Also Alualu will be gone but he is a shell at this point. Wormley is a UFA after the season, they might try to do a one year deal. Leal will be a starter next season I believe. Adams is signed for 23.

Heyward and Gentry play different roles. Gentry is primarily out there as a blocker, which is a weakness in Heyward's game.

Or the beauty that could’ve been Top 5 pick, 33 or 34, and 37 for the same end of season outcome.

And take your highest ranked one each time with the first 4 picks

OG can be on that list as well

We need to replace Dotson and Green

Actually doing a quick look at the draft value chart for example moving from the first pick in the second to the middle of the second should get you enough collateral for a mid third round pick

By the 4th the value of what you get is pretty low
