It wasn't a bullet. It was thrown a little deeper than it should have been. He showed touch on deep passes in college. He just needs to settle down and do that in the pros. Based on what I saw of him at Pitt, there is definitely still a good bit of upside for him as a pro.

I just told my son that he can be a Drew Brees type quarterback. Obviously, he’ll never be Ben or Terry but I think he can be a more mobile version of Neil O’Donnell, who was an excellent distributor of the football in spite of his SBXXX legacy. At the end of the day though, he’s Kenny Pickett and the jury is still out on what he becomes. I have high hopes based on what I’ve seen so far. The OC hiring this off-season (yes, it’s a foregone conclusion) will make him or break him. It’ll be the most important coordinator hiring the Steelers have had maybe in my lifetime.

I have not yet decided whom he reminds me of.
He's sort of still writing the introduction.
Against the Raiders, he wasn't himself, but he kept plugging away and not letting the game frustrate him.
He learned how to win ugly by keeping the course and taking advantage of the opportunity.

In a way, he does remind me of a young Brees when Brees was just finding out what he could do and what he couldn't do.
But at other times he kind of reminds me of anther Kenny, Stabler.
I cannot commit to anything yet though, I think he is just learning how to be Kenny Pickett.

Good point. I like how he hangs in and keeps plugging away even when things are not going particularly well. How many times did we see Ben “win ugly”?

Put their win/loss records and passing stats side by side. They are very similar.

IMO the best Cusack movie is the one He's a Hitman in, and comes back to His hometown for a hit, but goes to His class reunion. It has Benny the Jet, and Dan Aykroyd in it....I can remember the name of the movie, but it pretty good.

this would be amazing, if true. Not sure yet. Pickett does not throw a deep ball , Brees' was beautiful. Time will tell....

this is in only our WILDEST dreams. He does not have the skill set of Burrow. if he could be 80-90% of Burrow, I'd be thrilled.

    Hhhhmmm.

He can run a little, but really isn't a running QB.
His arm strength is average as is his accuracy.
Seems to have reasonable pocket presence
Has really cut down on INTs.

Chad Pennington? Pennington was really accurate though and Pickett is more mobile with a stronger arm, but maybe not a horrible comparison for now.

Neil O'Donnell? We all love to hate him, but he was really very good for a number of years. Yeah, he effed up the SB, but he was awesome that year and led the team to the SB. Then we basically ran him out.

Yes… you are right… I was trying to match him up to steeler qb’s. Tony Romo or Matt Hasselbeck have similarities with Pickett.

No Idea how you make the NOD resemblance. Also nobody ran O'Dummy out of town. He was going to the JETS right after the SB season. It was pretty much determined even before he threw those 2 god awful picks.

Yup. He was lucky enough to be an unrestricted free agent at the perfect moment.
