If you think draft is gonna make the Steelers Super Bowl Contenders in the next few years because of the draft.

will these teams be contenders in the next few years?

    Colts
    Texans
    Broncos
    Raiders
    Bears
    Packers
    Saints
    Packers
    Falcons
    Bears
    Rams
    Cardinals

everyone thinks that a lower draft position for the Steelers is a guarantee.

is it a guarantee for these other 12 teams???

Only team there with a chance are the Packers.

I'm not sure the Packers are any good, Rodgers looks like he's washed.

You never hope for the team you support to lose. I hope the Steelers win out this year and screw that draft pick

You play to win every game. Only perennial losers play for draft picks.

And what Coach do you think out there would magically be the difference maker?

Almost anything can happen. Many teams have turned it around quickly.

Just to clarify I never cheer for the Steelers to lose. I just acknowledge it’s not in the franchise’s best interests to win. I still enjoy the wins though.

There is no guarantee, a draft always make a team better or worse

No correlation to draft, but since the Steelers last won the SB, the following teams on your list have won a SB: Saints, Packers, Broncos and Rams

Do we get 2:1 odds with Chicago and Green Bay?

Also, just for clarity, are we voting for the draft making them Super Bowl contenders, or the draft because of the draft?

When the Rooneys put me on their payroll I'll worry about having an answer for this question.

But did the draft help them get there or free agency?

Not all first round draft picks are a sure thing far from it . I think the quality of the front office is finding good players in the middle rounds.
Over the last few years it appears our roster strength and depth has dropped every year since maybe 2015/16. I would only be guessing but my guess is Tomlin being more involved and we see more reaches and hybrid players that are versatile but not very good.
I agree with MadMike77 I always hope they win and never wish for a loss.
I think its true your record is who you are.
My biggest worry about this Steeler team is the lack of depth and talent on the roster over all.

I don't follow them so I have no idea. I would assume a combination of both.

You are absolutely correct…. But some on here cant seem to grasp the concept. If you make a difference with top draft picks and this is still a big if… you would have to do this scenario for at least 2-3 seasons

So our team is complete garbage and I am supposed to hope for a pick at 20 instead of 5th overall. Hoping we suck longer doesn’t sound like being a good fan. Yes a high draft pick is no guarantee but it certainly should help. You may even miss in the first but your pick is better in EVERY round. It doesn’t really matter the NFC South stuck it to the Steelers 4-0 versus the NFC South and 2-8 against the rest of the league.

You have a much better chance of getting a blue chip Tackle or Corner in the top 15 picks in the NFL draft, these are both huge needs for the team and one down year is not the end of the world, every team has them. I don’t think draft position matters a great deal after the top 40-50 picks however.

The losses aren’t hurting this year like they did other years but I certainly never cheer against the team.

For me, it has more to do with seeing the team grow and building momentum for next season. I would rather see progress, which admittedly may hurt draft position. I’ve never been too excited about sliding into the off-season with hopes that the draft will magically change things.

How does his record make him a better option than Tomlin?

I never want to lose,, but sometime when you know the team isnt going anywhere, there is nothing wrong wanting a higher draft pick...
