Josh Victorian has been brought up from the Practice Squad. Brian Hoyer has been waived.

I figured with us not signing anyone this week that Victorian would be brought up from the PS. Guess we are going with 2 qb's this week and heath as the emergency qb again?

I would love to see Heath running the wishbone option!
We would NEVER know who would be fumbling next!

Does this mean that Leftwich still has a spot on this roster? For the love of god when is this Lefty experiment gonna end? The guy can't step on the field without getting hurt and we waive a guy who is so much younger and has more promise. I just don't get it. I know there probably aren't a lot of teams clamoring for Hoyer at this point in the season so we could always take another flyer on him at a later point, I'm just sick of Leftwich getting a free ride.

Look up the definition of 'insanity'. The guy is made of glass. That's proof enough. I'd rather go with a guy that has got some high praise from a very knowledgeable coach and others. We need to get younger at the backup QB position. Enough said.

:this!: I would have preferred keeping Hoyer around. I guess being a Vet, we still have to pay Lefty. Maybe we don't have to pay Hoyer, anyone know? He may be available next year, or perhaps someone better. I just hope after this year, the Lefty experiment ends.

    Yep, "high praise".
That really helped him sitting on the couch.
Let's talk about about Hoyer 2 years from now.
    Who?
    Heck, I'd take J. Johnson.

If they need Hoyer back, they'll find a way of making room.
I'm presuming there's a reason why they won't cut Lefty, even if this means going with 1 and a half QBs - isn't there a rule against cutting injured guys?

Id take Jarrod Johnson as well ,way more upside . I'm just tired of lefty that's all. There has to be better options.

Albert Einstein's definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results

I'm a little baffled by waiving Hoyer at this time. I hope Ben is good to go, but I worry about him getting knocked out by another big hit if the line doesn't step up to protect him. Batch did a nice job last week for sure, but I guess it feels like we're putting all our eggs in one basket.

And I've never understood the Leftwich fascination the team seems to have. He's been far too injury-prone and slow to be a solid backup for the last few years now. Is he cleared to play now?

I was hoping that Hoyer would be a long term solution as a backup and that Leftwich had taken his last snap as a Steeler. Guess not.

The fascination with lefty stems from Bens strong friendship with him, remember when we played the jags lefty always took Ben out to dinner and when they played in pitt ben took him out to dinner, to keep ben happy they need to keep lefty here so they can bond, I know, it's silly, but it's the reason byron stays on the roster...

hoyer is still out there if needed. he has near 3 weeks with the offense now, so he won't be brand new if brought back. there is next year too. victorian must be needed on ST's now since everyone moved up a spot.
