I'll be very sad to see him go, but that's the price off success.....next man up doesn't just apply to the players..i wish him the best in his future endeavors, but we have unfinished business now.

A good prospect would be Alabamas Oline coach Jeff Stoutland, he just might want to come to the NFL and I think he should be considered for Kugs replacement, heres his bio....http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/stoutland_jeff00.html

This is where Tomlin earns his money, making the right choices in building the coaching staff is key to building championship teams.

I have no idea of who would be a good fit. Diamond proposes Jeff Stoutland from the tide. After reading his bio he seems really qualified.

I know this. Starks is having maybe his best season ever. Moving Legs to "C" in place of an all-pro "C" and moving said All-Pro to LG for the 1st time in his career was a very risky move considering who we were playing, the stakes involved and let's not forget our QB situation if a hard sack had occured on a fragile QB. This is the type of decisions that are risky but needed and proclaims the success of Kugs coaching. Let's remember Beechum, a 7th rd rookie who's up against a solid front seven and a dominating destructive force in Paul Kruger. Beechum struggled in preseason with assignments and handwork/ penalties and yet in his 1st start he showed Kugs coachiing ability. Colon is also doing a fine job in his new position.

We will miss Kugs, he was building a legacy of being a solid yet fluid coach.

I thought Kugler's performance here was pretty overrated the last couple of years, but I've certainly got no complaints this year. I wonder if the improvement has more to do with Haley than Kugler? I know that the OL has been killed by injuries every single year since he got here (and before that), but it's that way this year as well, and this year is the only year we've seen real improvement, both in the running game and pass protection. Our old players (Starks, Legursky, Foster, Gilbert, Colon sort of) are playing better than years past, and our new players (Adams, Beachum, Colon sort of) are playing better than what should probably be expected of them.

Our OL has had a lot to deal with every year, but only this year did they step their game up, so that's what makes me think it may have more to do with Haley than Kugler. But maybe not.

Yeah, I read an article in the Gazette, that confirmed he is going to be the head coach at UTEP next season, but will finish the season here(including post season).
Hope we get a quality replacement, the line is FINALLY starting to show some promise, ESP when all are healthy.

Is going from a NFL team to a coach of a college a promotion? Not even a big name college, at least I ve never heard of them.

That's a shame. The OL has really looked good since he's been here. In my opinion this was the first season that we got to see what his OL could do when healthy. They've been shaken up lately but played very well before that.

Coach Kugler will be missed for sure.
He has had many challanges to work with, facing consistant injurys of players.
Great at shuffling the deck to keep the line moving, no excuses.
Wish him luck at his next gig.

Mentioned as a replacement was Dirt Dawson. Would be an excellent addition, but, some former players just don't adjust to the coaching game. If he was interested a look see would be welcomed.

Russ Grimm. He was scorned by the Steelers not getting the head coaching position. And for good reason. He ain't coming back.

Too bad Kugler had to go, but that is the business. He has done miracles for an o-line ravaged with injuries.

My #1 choice would be Bob Bostad, but that's not going to happen. Check out Bostad's resume. Not to mention this is his first year serving as O-line coach for the Buccaneers - 3rd in sacks allowed with an explosive power running game. With all the success at Wisconsin, and now with the Bucs, this is the guy you want as your O-line coach.

As for possible options - maybe Juan Castillo? We all know of his problems as a Defensive Coordinator, but he was a pretty good O-line coach for a while.
