    With hearing ian say this....

I do not see why we would re-sign Mason next year.
Furthermore with Mitch saving us 8 million next year, I don't see him being kept.

Therefore I would not be shocked if we took a QB in the first round next year, unless Pickett puts up big numbers before the end of the season.

It’s not about big numbers, it’s about development.

Mitch could be on a short leash Sunday.

Mitch could be going out to dinner after the game.

Mitch could be secretly dating Michelle Obama.

Mitch could be the next CEO of Walmart.

My point being that Ian Rappaprt is a toolbag, and his opinion of what "could be" is meaningless.

The only way we go QB in the first this Spring is if the team is getting concerning medical reports about KP’s career longevity due to concussions. I have heard absolutely nothing to indicate that’s the case. KP is not Josh Rosen.

Yep, no way the Steelers take a QB unless in a late round. I too have been wondering if we are going to be forced to look for one due to kenny's health. Sure the hell hope not cause I'm still a believer he can ball in the NFL.

This organization is capable of just about anything good or bad. After today's game and KP is back running the O, if he has another episode with a concussion, damn. In order to not have another concussion, I hope KP's play is not negatively impacted in avoiding one. But, this is all hypothetical mumbo jumbo, until further word, he'll be fine and continue to be all that we want. Go Steelers.

2 concussions of a rookie will make any team think about the future

The Steelers are not giving up on Pickett that quick. And there’s no need to.

Doesn't mean giving up. He has 2 concussions. He's been average the last few games. Amd with more than likely mitch/mason gone next year, you have to have at list a decent back up.

Why does sports journalism attract a-holes like Rappaport, Cowherd, Bayless, etc.?

Have you seen any news reports about KP’s career being in jeopardy? Because you can bet if there’s even a hint of true concern, the media would be all over it.

I don’t think we would hear a word about it, media is only all over Bengals, Bills, Chiefs, Eagles and Dallas’s jock straps…lol

Let's say for the sake of argument that Steeler brass, at season's end come to the conclusion that Pickett will never be anything but a decent back-up. I don't think that will be the case, but's let's argue that and/or your scenario where they are genuinely alarmed about his concussions. This team has far too many needs to get into a situation where they are grasping for QB's. Whether they or anyone want to admit it, this team is rebuilding. Pickett will be back, and I think they will let Mason walk and try to resign Trubisky. If not, then they bring in another vet like Dalton or Mariota. This team needs varsity players at so many positions that drafting another QB in the first-round next year would be a waste. Just my opinion.

Mitch's game vs the Ravens is a good example of why I don't think he should be resigned as a backup.

I also don't think he has the ability to diagnose defenses in a way that would help KP on the sideline.

Short leash....long leash...at this point It is of little consequence in my opinion who the QB is that's starting if it's not Pickett. If it's Pickett, I just want to see progress...win is a bonus. I'm more interested in him being in competitive games to play in tight situation. Win is great...loss...probably more valuable to his development in making mistakes now...and learning.

The reason i don't care who the QB is if it's not KP...is because neither Mitch or Mason will be a Steeler next year... so I really don't care how well they do or don't play. I have no dog in that fight. I also don't think either one is noticeably better than the other.
