This team is just a handful of plays away from an 8-5 record. Make a stop in the Jets game. Score in the Dolphins game. Not throw the 2nd pick in the Ravens game.

There were other winnable games this year as well. How to get there? Start with rebuilding the offensive and defensive lines. IMHO that's really all the offense needs. They have a young QB, RB, TEs, WRs - just need blocking and a better coach. On defense, they have to be able to stop the run, especially when they know it is coming. And stop the soft zones where WRs are wide open on 3rd and 4th down. DL, MLB, and CB. I feel like as woeful as the offense is, there are more needs on defense. Can this all be corrected in one draft? Maybe not, but they may be able to make decent strides to get this team to being competitive again.

This team is not the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, or Houston Texans. They will be better next year.

 

The steelers are 4-5 in one score game this year.They were 15-4-1 in 2020 and 2021.They can not win 75% of the time the close game everytime.They are what they are with their 5-8 record and 3-13 against team with a winning record since 2021

The Steelers are eighth in the league in average time of possession this season. They had a few bad games in this area early in the season, but the idea that the defense is just overworked simply isn't true.
